I wouldn't be surprised if McLaren sorted him out with a 570S just for the press but not sure if they do that type of thing.
I'm yet to see a car company offer a single penny off a car for the press coverage so I don't think that's likely. If anything from my experience they actually go the other way as everything being public has to be done down the correct channels the way they want others to see it.

Long term loaners as per the magazines are on the cards but almost impossible on a supercar or car of this value so that won't be a starter.

I really love that as everyone is busy slagging him off, STG drops easily the best video of a sunday service I've seen.

Why would anyone watch a video of a sunday service?!

I mean its interesting to go to and have a chat, but watching one on youtube is baffling.

I disagree. He's gone for one of the most overpriced cars on the market. When there are lots of other hot-hatch dailys which are better.
His money and his choice and all that - But still it's hardly the "humble" choice, it's basically £60k of Fiat.
- Well, I think they start at £30k but with a few options it's £60k.
Which options has he specced that have doubled the price ??
Tim has already stated it was less than £30k...
It may well be overpriced... but flawed compromised cars demand a level of enthusiasm not shown by Joe-public.

As for him being not as nice a year ago...
FFS, people change?! what's to get?

Oh he's a youtuber, therefore he must align with a specific view of a proper car guy, not only that but he must align with that view from the moment his starts the project until he stops.... come on, get real, over excited newbie that says and does stuff you don't like, but by doing it more and more becomes more rounded... is that not the definition of growing and gaining experience?

You might not get money off but you get the push to be able to get the special cars limited release ones.

Do you think if you didn't have the shame brand you'd be getting the new Ford GT at first release?

I'm presuming he bought it used then?
List price is £32,995. With some options (for example a flappy paddle gearbox is £8,500) and the Carbon package (another £4,000) it adds up quickly.

I don't care what he buys. His money. But stop defending it like it's a "car of the people" , when it's not.

And people may indeed change, but he posted a public video which showed him in a pretty bad light last year. As I have said, this year he came across in a much more acceptable manner.
I'm glad he seems to be more rounded.

Still has a silly hat though.

One of a YouTuber's biggest incomes is not what they get paid, but what they are offered a vastly reduced price for in exchange for the exposure they'll offer.

While its hard to keep up with which manufacturers STG is in bed with (Peugeot, Ford, McLaren)... I do distinctively remember him being flown out to review the Fiat 124 Spider. Oh, and an Alfa Giulia QV. Oh, and he turned up to SS in a loaned Alfa Giulia.

Knowing a little about how these things work, I'd reckon he's paid closer to £20k than £30k. Certainly not £60k.

The Ford GT is the only example, and they made it very clear from the get-go they wanted to be different from other manufacturers and specifically wanted to do it this way with cars reaching social media exposure. At the moment I'm still looking at spending more than £400k on a car we don't yet know that much about... or when it's coming... or whether it's actually going to be worth the money!

Any other car I've ordered has come down to sensible deposit placements on what's likely to arrive and/or as soon as I've heard whisper of something that interests me, mostly through discussions on this very website.

He's the first registered keeper, he didn't order it new. Big difference!

I've not said it's a car of the people??
and I'm not defending it or justifying it or approving it..
But it is a car for the enthusiast....making him NOT just the average youtuber...he does come across as more of a car guy than some suggest..

I wasn't clear but I wasn't talking £x off the list price, more a loaner like what Seb Delanney? has had from Renault.

I suppose compared to some others it does, being said Tim has a Focus RS etc.
I don't really watch enough of the types of videos to say much. It's just not for me so i don't watch them.

The day a "bruv" pops up on the scene in "the freshest new whip" then I might consider subscribing. The private school education accent grates me.

Well not really, if he's the first keeper, he bought it 'new'

I assume it was a dealer showroom car? So he got some discount, it's still a £37k list car regardless of what he paid for it.

I'm not judging him for it, he can spend his money how he likes, in the video that was posted he said the wrapped Noble looked st, I disagree, I think a yellow Fiat 500 with 2 seats for £37k is st, he probably disagrees. So the world keeps spinning etc etc.

Except he paid less than 30k

Why does it matter what you think?

It's his car, he obviously likes it. Who cares what he paid or if it was 'new'. It honestly has absolutely nothing to do with you.

Do you say the same to STG for saying the Noble looked st?
