Nothing against the guy but he comes across so dis-interested in his videos that I stopped watching. Knows nothing about cars, even the ones he owns.

Really feels like he's 'doing' YouTube as it's the current thing to do.
He's doing it to promote his business

Yep new depths of shallowness ..........

Another kid from a privileged background living in a family funded home in SW London fooling the stupid that's all about the clicks.
How do you know that?

From what I can make of the guy, he went to Uni, did Finance, and then worked in the City for quite some number of years, but instead of spending it all on coke, he invested it into his hobby: fitness, and made a business out of it. And now he has all these toys but people just call him a trustafarian.

Laughable.

Works in finance and setup LDNMuscle with his brother and friend and I think it's doing quite well.

I think Shmee's videos are really good. He gives a clear insight into his cars and what they are like to drive, rather than the 'this car is fast!' type commentary by SOL etc which is just boring. I hope to get my first super car in the next few years if my business ventures work out.

Keep up the good work Shmee!

I didn't say he was a trustafarian.

He has built what looks to be a good business in LdnM and like Shmee and STG is clearly very entrepreneurial. He also works at a big blue bank beginning with B. By the way lots of people work in the city, most of us don't spend our earnings on coke,

It's a little easier to be entrepreneurial when you have a comfortable start in life and don't necessarily have to worry about property costs to the extent other people might. There's a growing number of kids from very privekiged backgrounds building careers on YT, social media and in other endeavours which would be a whole lot harder without a safety net. The gullible lap it up and ascribe it all to "being a You Tuber".

The worst thing about Shmee lately was completely ruining another youtubers 1st video about his new car so he could steal all the premier views for the content, not only that but when talking to the owner he was constantly rude and cutting him off mid speech etc.
I'm fascinated that you see it like that! Obviously Sam and I fully discussed our plan about 2 weeks before he even got the car, and of course it has helped drive huge numbers of traffic his way - the mutual win of course is that rather than putting out a competing video on the same day it gives my channel some more views and in exchange sends him a few thousand more subscribers, while also acting as a collaboration which plays nicely into the YouTube algorithm. If you create content together like this, you don't steal each others views; it exponentially increases; 2+2=5 so to speak. Neither he nor I are unhappy about the results and you can be sure his video would have had fewer videos without the collaboration effect.

Someone explain to me how this bloke has a Vulcan in his home garage? I thought they were track only and stored with AM?

From memory you could have them made road legal (at a cost obviously).

I've been away for a few days so catching up on any interesting videos for the usual suspects, so clicking directly on their videos lists rather than just seeing what's in my subs list.

It's been interesting to see the total view counts for some of Shmee's recent videos, the ones that I've thought the most interesting (VXR Maloo, E-type and the supercharged Aston) are much lower than all the rest, even just the one of him driving around chuntering (which is playing in the background as I type this). Just shows what the audience are interested in watching (or partially watching having just read the title) - I wonder if there is a noticeable difference in how much of the film people watch between vlog or review films.

In other news, I was heartened to see STG on the Michelin beano confessing that he couldn't tell any difference between the various tyres. Sadly for SOL, who was at the same event, I'm not going to bother watching his content as it'll just be a repeat of STG's - a downside of so-called 'colabs' (or even just attending the same events as others).

You're in luck, James (JWW) was also on the event so you can have a third video in the next few days, and I'll be making one form there including road driving in the UK too.

In Sams defense, the limited time we had to compare the tyres made it very difficult to draw conclusions even for an experienced tester, so I admire his honesty. It would have been very easy for him to repeat what one of the testers could have told him. Given how rushed the afternoon was, he put out a really decent video IMO.

You seem to know about him - care to share?

As he has stated on many occasions he's not been funded by bank of parents. You're saying he comes from a privileged background?

I've recently started getting into these Youtubers and TGE is probably one of my favourites. I follow him on snapchat and he goes to work everyday, does his ldn muscle stuff in between that and on weekends, he has a clothing line, an air freshener business, a premium watch reselling business and then he puts out some high quality (although lacking in depth) YouTube videos. Very impressive.

STG is another favourite. He quite clearly acknowledges to not knowing everything about cars but he has tangible excitement and fascination which really comes across on camera.

I find SOL videos to be a bit tedious, he seems to stretch them all to over 10 minutes for the revenue boost even if it means incredibly mundane content. However I have to commend him on how successful he's been considering where he started from.

I've not had time to check any of the others out yet

Has Shmee become a sort of SOL? Producing videos for the sake of views with no real content.

I think it's the January blues... every year it's a hard time to find content because the weather ruins plans at the last minute without fail!

To be fair, until I got an e-mail at 10am the other day that I wasn't going to be leaving 3 hours later to join AMG in the Arctic circle I thought my few days up to now would have been content from there. Apparently it's too warm to drive on a lake at the moment!

You're setting yourself to be shot at by Jealous Divs on here Shmee.

At nearly 50 years old I guess I'm one of your more mature subscribers. I usually get to watch via the xbox1 in our living room (that way I can crank up the Bose Surround sound!) every night when I get to steal 30 mins to myself whilst the Mrs is showering our little girl. If little Mia comes downstairs whilst the Mrs is showering she sits and watches it with me. She says you should get some sunglasses like I've got ha ha.

Your exactly right about the Seen Through Glass video when he unvailed his car with you there. Soon as it finished I jumped straight onto yours.

Keep it up. Laugh at the haters due to the fact they are watching your videos to enable them to comment.

I don't mind the chat...I can do something else with it on in the background....
IMO getting an AMG GT/S will undermine the GTR btw...not convinced there is the step in performance to allow the R to feel special when you get it....
Get something that will shock your viewers... a Nissan GTR, a Lotus Esprit V8, a Testerossa...

Don't worry, there isn't an AMG GT/GT S in my plans; it's content and misleading until things will be revealed in due course.
