I'm guessing he has a stake in the car and will be the one selling it in future. Seems a bit of a monetary leap otherwise.
Doesn't he provide the finance for STG and SOL? If so, I would have thought he makes his money from commission paid to him from the finance houses he uses and/or by sourcing cars at a lower price than he sells them at.
No, he made a video about the finance company he uses.

This video throws up some very interesting questions for me.

Why does Tony hang around? How is he making money from this? http://www.gravelwood.co.uk
Had you heard of him before he appeared on STG's videos? Would you have linked to his website here had he not appeared on SOL's videos? Would you think about using him if you wanted somebody to source you a supercar having seen him on STG/SOL's videos? There's your answer wink

I got in touch with these guys on Thursday about potentially financing a like for like car swap. I can totally understand how they're getting these YouTubers into these flash cars, there was literally an answer for everything. My scenario although a little weird didn't phase them and they had an answer and have referred my application to their lender.

Other lenders would shave said no. I should know on Monday the answer but they sounded positive and wanted to move on to finding me the right car!

STG has just done a Clio Trophy review in his latest vid, I'm a RenaultSport fanboy so was happy to see it. Best car he could find for sub £5k, and giving it away too.
Finding his content far better than the other vloggers at the moment.

Do you mean changing your car for a like car at similar price regularly without changing the financing each time? I would be interested to know if they can do a continuous finance package like that, almost like a credit line I guess?

Yes. Pretty much! There's a slight increase in the monthlies as the APR is different but it's roughly the same all in which is good.

Ooh, don't forget to film it when you collect the new car. Perhaps you could arrange some PH fans to watch the whole event?

A new low.

Coaching for the extremely hard of thinking on how to achieve one's "life goals" from a chap with rich parents.

It's this utter BS that I deeply resent in certain You Tubers. Stick to leveraging your very good start in life, focus on cars for the "ooohh shiny" audience but please leave the cod-philosophy out of it and have the self awareness to identify that most of the 15 year old semi-literate contributors to your comments fields won't ever be able to "achieve" what you have by dint of circumstance.

This one from Seb is similarly gag-inducing:

https://youtu.be/-xD9Ukl00Yc

But I think Tim (Shmee) has done some good videos on this subject, the early ones in his Fuel for Thought series:

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeHrR-7a2Rb8...

Not patronising and shows awareness that most of his audience don't have the start in life he did.

Oh god, how can anyone watch Seb and really enjoy his content? Especially that dreadful vid with his smug looking, floppy -haird pillock of a friend getting his 5 minutes of fame too.

I should point out that I only saw that vid as it was in my YouTube feed. I'm not a subscriber of Sebs, but have met him and he's a really nice kid. Very down to earth and likeable, I just can't stand his videos, or the way he's as bad as Will Smith with Jayden at pushing Josh on the world.

Haven't you heard of that 50 Shades book? It's the way some people roll.

I don't really watch or subscribe to any YouTubers, but good luck to them.

Not sure why anyone would want to buy a hoodie or baseball cap with 'SEB' written on it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JiCYJeYDi8

I guess if you have more than 100,000 subscribers then someone will stump up the cash though.

I always wonder how many of these t-shirts the like of Shmee or SOL sell? Even if they get 0.1% of their subscribers to spend some money that's good business and there must be a few Fanboys that will buy several (or just a shirt and a hat) to make up the numbers.

In all fairness that Seb clothing is quite nice for a petrolhead. The SoL stuff is fairly nice too as it's not obviously a car brand.

Who in their right mind would buy it, though?

"New top - what does it say on it?"

"I'm a ginormous fan of some random bloke on YouTube who I *love* so much I've bought a "hoodie" from him so he knows how much I love him and his videos on YouTube and his nice cars and his videos and I know I'm over thirty and "hoodies" are for children and burglars but I watch his cool videos about cars and he is great and I like his videos on YouTube so I can watch him buy more cars and..."

"Err..."

I'm 40 next month and regularly wear hoodies. I wouldn't buy one of those ones because I don't wear things with big logos on them or obviously 'car' clothing, but I can appreciate that others would.

I personally think the line drawn tees that Tim sells are brilliant though and everyone should buy them.

(Which has nothing to do with the fact that I designed them for him biggrin)
