I too would recommend Eagle F1s. I have them in 195 45 17 fitment, they transmit negligible road noise, excellent cornering grip in wet and dry, and they wear very well seeing as i've rotated mine and the pair on the front have done over 27000 miles.

Looks like I'll ditch RFT for some PSS then sooner than later!

Birds B1 suspension on list too
What car is this for and which RFT at the mo'?

Unfortunately PSS are not in my size else I'd probably go for them.

Nothing wrong with Conti SC5s or GY F1s but Supersports are stickier than both and will outlast them too.

PS3 is nothing like as good a performance tyre as the Supersport (or the other 2) Confuses everybody who wrongly assume they are direct replacements for the earlier PS2. They are not.

SC6s are more like Michelin Cup 2s than Supersports. Very very grippy but maybe half the length of life of the supersport.

All this feedback off the back of 4000 miles on a Megane RS275, a Civic Type R and a Golf R. General daily stuff but mainly 2500 hard miles in Spain , a few weekend expeditions and 1 track day.

Agreed re PS3, it replaced the Pilot Exalto 2. The PS4 is due in Jan and will be a proper PS4 replacement.

I think the Conti and Goodyear will have the edge in wet grip, Super Sport will def out last them though.

The SC6 isn't a track tyre, it replaced the 5P, and is a grade under the ForceContact, which in itself is a grade under the Cup 2. It's a very good tyre, but definitely no more extreme than the PSS in regards of ultimate dry grip, it's just Conti's don't wear as well as Michelin tyres.

Oh I agree its comparable with the SS in terms of grip and fully treaded unlike a Cup. Certainly do the winter stuff OK (But then so will the Cup 2 unlike its predecessor). But bear in mind it was sticky enough to set a FWD record round the ring on the Honda. Our experience showed it to be stickier than the SC5 but also quite a bit faster wearing.

Sounds like 2016 could be an interesting tyre year. R&D, product life cycles coming round with Continental and Michelin releasing new tyres.

What I do know for myself, the Bridgestone RFT have to come off sooner than later. Due to my low mileage the RFT will be on the car for a while!

Isn't the CS6 out now? I've heard it's a decent improvement over the CS5.
I think they start at 19" though. Smaller sizes might appear soon.

Funny, Contis own diagram promises improved wear over the SC5. I'm wondering if there's something special about the OE Civic version...

There won't be any information out this side of christmas I'm afraid.

I'll hopefully be one of the first to hear when new dates are announced, and when I hear I'll update this thread smile

Thank you, fingers crossed for early next year as not liking the RFT!

What I'm interested in is CS6 vs PSS biggrin

Trust me, so am I!

I'll be putting a video test together of those two, and hopefully the new Goodyear as soon as possible next year.

I've given up on Contis now. Decent grip but the longevity on them is awful. Found the same with the CSC3 and 5.

Aah.....so the CS6 has replaced the CS5P then.....I was thinking about the P as replacement for the P-Zero's on my 135i, as they are still listed in stock on several online tyre supplier websites, but if that is a very recent change, they will likely still have stock, but I won't be buying until next spring though... frown
Probably stay with the Pirelli then instead.
I've found by past experience that the Michelin superior wear rate to be bks, as while they do look to last longer, I've ended up binning them with quite a bit of tread left as they just 'go off' in the last 1/3 of their life and so in reality, they wear at the same rate as any other make....and I begrudge having to replace a tyre that 'looks' to still have tread left.....typical French con trick....Michelin's have always been like that.

What size are you running - 215/245, 225/245 or 225/255?

Nice looking 135i!
