While PH has never been the biggest supporter of SUVs over the years, we appreciate that their global sales success proves that a lot of people disagree with us!

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve teamed up with BMW in order to bring you the opportunity to test drive any of BMW’s range of current X Series cars.

So whether you’ve always fancied one or are looking to upgrade your existing SUV, all you have to do is follow this link fill out the form and you'll get a call to confirm your appointment with your nearest dealer. It’s as simple as that and Bob’s your uncle. We’d love to hear how you get on, especially if you end up buying one, so make sure you keep us posted through the forums.

There was something similar recently to test drive the i8 - I completed the form and looked forward to a test drive but heard nothing - which rather switches me off BMW (despite owning one amongst my various cars)

So essentially BMW are paying you to send them test drive requests?

This appears to be no less that a Pistonheads endorsed phishing expedition. I like others was suckered into giving my details for the i8 test drive, this appears to be more of the same. No contact from BMW at all, no phone call, no email no text.

Did anyone get a test drive from the i8 posting?

I wonder if it is just a fancy scamming attempt? smile

I am half waiting for an oceanographer to email me about my car that his agent is coming to collect for more than the asking price.

Avoid.

Hi all,

I've been told the form wasn't responding properly beforehand and therefore the details weren't reaching BMW, hence no contact. I have been assured that it's functioning correctly now (same with the i8) and test drive requests will be responded to. Apologies!

So why not just contact a dealer directly to request a test drive? What are PH adding here?

Indeed. If the offer was something along the lines of the AMG Roadshows -where a group of you would be invited to the dealer for a specific 2hr window, got a drink and a sandwich (well it was lunchtime) and then a quick drive of a couple of AMGs and a look round the rest of the range - then it might be worth our while signing up. But instead you get to turn up at a BMW dealer and waste a salesman's time (will they even offer a drive if you said you weren't in the market?) who will do the bare minimum to get the tick in the box from the marketing team that dreamt this 'offer' up.
