great shout! didnt realise the new shape 6 was available for mid 20's. my faourite interior in a car too. back to classifieds
is that a CLS? it looks dreadful, sorry if you own one!
also, ISF and M6 are good shouts but having been in the Lexus it feels 2nd rate to me, and the M6 is not showing its age well imo, to me the M3 still feels like a modern car whereas the M6 definitely feels previous gen, if not older. all IMO of course.

Each to his or her own, naturally. I can't say I 'felt' much generation difference between the V10 M5/M6, and the coupé package is far more attractive to me. For me, the earlier 6-series looks a lot more subtle and well-resolved than the somewhat-bloated, benostrilled newer model.also, ISF and M6 are good shouts but having been in the Lexus it feels 2nd rate to me, and the M6 is not showing its age well imo, to me the M3 still feels like a modern car whereas the M6 definitely feels previous gen, if not older. all IMO of course.

For me the last generation 6 series was just a mess looks wise and the headlights and boot just looked wrong to me, the current 6 series looks pretty good I reckon especially in M sport spec.Looks are always very subjective though and I have always respected the last generation 6 series as I like them but I am not sure I could live with the looks.
In fairness though I have always liked the way a BMW drives rather than the way they look so if someone offered me a V10 M6 for nothing I am not sure I would say no!
I had my heart set on an E92 M3 for ages, then at the last minute I changed my mind and went for an M235i.
Its not really a direct competitor, but its a similar size and performance to an E46 M3, the ZF auto is great, its more modern inside, comfier as an everyday car, still in warranty, has more mid range power, and is a lot cheaper to run.
On the down side, it doesn't look as good, its not as hardcore, its not a proper M car, and while I love the engine, its no S65 V8.
You can pick up a 1 year old one with 15000 miles on it for about £26k.

so i guess its down to the 2, I loved the C63 4-5 years ago but cant help thinking it looks a bit dated now? especially the interior?
I've only spent a test drives worth of time in a c63 (facelift 6.2) and I found it a nice place to be. I would be surprised if an M3 is much better to be honest.I test drove a C63 and Jaguar XFR back to back. Bought the XFR.

I have to disagree on the first point and say that (although maybe biased as a BMW fan) having experienced both interiors, the BMW is leagues ahead, especially with the extended leather option ticked, it was an early C63 though and I am led to believe the interior quality improved over the years of manufacture.I test drove a C63 and Jaguar XFR back to back. Bought the XFR.
RE: the Jag, I think at 30 y.o I cant quite see myself in a Jag, as good as they may be.

Fair point - your loss though!to add not sure if you can disagree with my point on the c63 facelift interior if by your own admission you've never seen one!?
Sounds like you're just looking for reasons to buy the M3. In which case - you don't need reasons, go and get one! They're good cars.

around 15k PA. what kind of MPG did you see? thanks
Hi - I saw 23mpg at 70 to 75mph on cruise control on the motorway. This was the best.Over the 1.5 years I owned mine the general average was always in the teens 15 to 19 depending what I was doing.
My sister owned it after I passed it over to her for 2 years and when I drove it again one day and posted a pic of 19mpg, she slagged me as she hadn't seen better than 16mpg over her two year average ownership.
Unlike the 3.2l straight 6 S54 engine, where you could get some reasonable MPG if you went very easy, I just never found that possible in the V8 and it meant it became a sunday and fun day car for me. I was doing 19.5k miles to and from work alone. Add in fun and I was spending a chunk on fuel.
