The pre-facelift's interior is quite different, which I imagine is what the OP tried four or five years ago.
Quite possibly, hence why I qualified my post with the fact my opinion was based on the face lift.

Fair point - your loss though!

to add not sure if you can disagree with my point on the c63 facelift interior if by your own admission you've never seen one!?

Sounds like you're just looking for reasons to buy the M3. In which case - you don't need reasons, go and get one! They're good cars.

apologies my comment was regarding an early C63, which at my budget is the only option for me! I wasnt commenting on a facelift model as I have not been in one!

I believe it was 2011, facelift on top:
That is a huge improvement, certainly couldn't live with the earlier interior, not after seeing the difference anyway! I am very fussy about the inside of a car for some unknown reason.

I could stretch to a high mileage facelift, maybe cat D, but I think that pretty much rules out the C63 for me unfortunately.

When I was looking (literally a year ago) I was able to (just..just) squeeze into an early facelift c63 from a dealer for 30k give or take.

So still out of budget but presumably you can squeeze that a bit more now smile

Certainly not the same 'value' as an M3 of similar vintage though. Big part of why I went for the XFR in the end as it was 7k cheaper and isn't 7k less a car.

Good luck whichever way you choose - hopefully you're finding, as I did, it's a nice problem to be having and great fun to solve smile

i had a 2012 e92 m3 LE 500. super car much better as a daily than the others i looked at in the 40k price bracket and came with warranty. other cars i looked at were the c63 amg, gtr 08/09 plate, r8 v8 (to slow, crap interior at that budget).

with the standard exhuast u can mod it and it sounds fantasic easily as good if not better than the c63 (you can do it urself or its about £200).
I would defintly recommend it. DCT Box is easily one of the best out there still and is amazing even in traffic.

That does sound good and as standard they are not only quiet but its not an inspiring noise either hence why I have always loved the noise a C63 makes far more but I am impressed with that.

I suppose Merc know how to make V8`s sound good without the need to butcher the exhaust though...

ye bmw missed a trick lol. you get some great pops and bangs though with the exhaust mod as well as no drone at 80mph plus sounds absolutely epic compared to that video.
