This scam happens too often, a guy on here recently was in a similar position and it looked unlikely he would get his money or car back. I have been a victim of the same scam by someone who I thought I knew quite well, turned out he was having loads of people over.

Advice has to be DON"T EVER GIVE A CAR DEALER YOUR CAR ON SALE OR RETURN, NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE!

Good Luck

Exactly. Why take the risk. The dealer has zero costs and everything to win. Some punters are bloody mad.

Can you have a chat with my bank, they charge a fortune for 2 minutes work by a secretary.
Or my car insurer. I've been with them for a few years, and they charge me £55 just to send some paperwork. Obviously a BS fee they can't justify, but I guess every little bit of profit helps them.

Looking at his cars, I bet he's on here.
The thing is, he's making decent money, so why be greedy? Of the cars mentioned, he made a couple of grand per car. Not too shabby!

Surely you'd be down there asap to get your car back now if you had it on SOR. I expect to see his showroom bare very soon.

Such as shame he's a tt, he has some great motors there and there's very few showrooms about like it. He is however a complete con artist by the look of things so can expect no sympathy.

But when you sell cars SOR, you're liable to pay the seller once the car's off the lot.
You then have to put your hand in your own pocket if the buyer comes back with warranty work (you're a dealer remember, no 'sold as seen').

There were some high end cars in that showroom, so he could be out a fair amount on repairs pretty quickly.

2 or 3 of those and if you don't have the cash in the bank, you need to find another way to pay your sellers....
'Well when I sell X's car, I'll pay back Y, until then I'll tell Y his car's still here'

Another warranty claim or two and you're into full blown Ponzi territory and your business model relies on you keeping half a dozen sellers waiting while you find a dozen more buyers to fill the financial black hole you're stuck in.

I'm surprised he got away with using the name in that font/format TBH. When I first saw it I genuinely thought it was run by Frank Williams. Surely there's a copy write infringement going on there too?!

Williams F1 have changed their font a couple/several times since the slanted BMW M Style font.

This is true, but it is also true that when they used that font they kerned it properly.

Should have also made the last part of the M vertical and anybody that uses upper case in Co.Uk...

Excuse my ignorance, but why would he be out of pocket on a warranty claim? Isn't that covered by the warranty company?

Depends on the claim, and how soon it occurs after sale. If the warranty company deem it a pre-existing fault, or something that's not listed in the policy terms, it'll be down to the dealer and customer to argue about who foots the bill.

I see that Lamborghini Birmingham are advertising this in the PH classifieds:

I've only ever seen one in this colour with yellow calipers, the same one owned by the Williams Motors guy. Selling his assets as fast as possible perhaps?
