Used to live in Cardiff and spoken to the owner a number of times about buying various card from him, and actually selling my car on my behalf.

Never ended up going through with any deals though.

He always seemed ok to me, and the cars always seemed nice and straight.

I cant watch the video at work, but how was he scamming people?

In short, offering to sell people's cars for them, through his show room, but then lying about remedial work he'd had done, how much he'd sold the car for and not giving the owner any money once he had sold the car. In order to fund his 458 and Aventador!

Selling cars on SOR, not passing the money on to the original owner.

They stung him by agreeing to sell him a car on SOR with agreed value of 2850. Then a member of their team bought it the very next day through him for 5k cash, they then left it 10 days to contact him to ask if the car had sold yet. He replied no, further excuses, then mentioned he might have to let it go for 2350, etc etc. The car had already sold for 5k!

Had previous customers who'd sold via SOR on there who had been fobbed off for over a year!

Utter Coward legging it through the showroom when the cameras were on him. Had an absolute stack of cars in there too. Id be straight round there now removing my car if it was there. Mind you I bet this is nothing new and other (as I mentioned at the start) are up to the same. No regulation is the problem with some of these dealers

This company is next door to one of our customers.

He obviously likes to hold on to people's cash to fund his "playboy" lifestyle. It's the first time I've seen a car dealer being able to afford a Lambo AND a Ferrari at the same time (unless it's a really high-end dealer of course).

I sold my porsche to this guy directly, none of this sale and return.. cheque bounced.. blah blah blah, received another cheque which cleared, luckily my drama lasted just over a week. When the cheque bounced i googled and found a horror story where some poor guy on sale or return was getting the run around, which made me very nervous..

Months later my mate was then selling his car, zero interest on here or autotrader, so he went to williams, I warned him to only sell direct due to the horror story i had found, but unfortunately he did the sale or return.. car sold straight away and payment was to be spaced over 3 payments (god knows why), took close to a year to get it all back... every excuse under the sun was made not to pay, blamed it on his payments lady(not that he ever had one), only when it came to breaking point did the cash come..

Expect alot of angry sellers contacting this douchebag today

Is this not fraud?

I suspect the police will say its a civil matter. I've been in a similar situation but lost the whole car, as I was simply not paid.

He told me that he only had the lambo and fez (which he said he wouldn't actually sell, even though they are for sale) so he wouldn't have to pay any tax, as the depreciation on those assets could offset his sales?

What a Scum bag this thread needs to keep running. These car dealers need more regulation, the financial industry is full of it. On the subject of Porsche most Specialists now take the FCA regulation seriously (apart from the so called Air cooled specialist in North Essex I mentioned earlier. Basically if they cant demonstrate some form of regulation then walk. I found out the hard way too by trusting someone I thought I knew

The business here appears to be tantamount to a ponzi scheme, where the intermediate funds are used to fund his lavish lifestyle.

He's had a lot of nice 'personal' cars over the years and had every Ferrari V8 Spider since the 355.

He only seems to drive them around town and Cardiff Bay when the sun is out though.

I cant see how someone that has a business premises, with opening hours, and flash cars, can get away with this and scam so many people?

Im not saying that everyone is a powerfully built director cage fighter nor am I suggesting that people should have gone down and been violent.

Even the gentlest of people would surely rock up unannounced, with a thermos flask of coffee, sit down in the front of the showroom and refuse to leave till money is in the bank.
