Yep really. Worked on Airbus and Boeing for 26 years now and not a single metric socket or spanner in my toolbox. My toolbox that I've paid for and all the tools inside!

All stress calc are done in metric units. Newtons, Kg, MM.

Airbus maintenance manuals all quote torque figures in lbs/ft etc and all pressures, hyd and oxy for example are psi.

I was surprised that Airbus are imperial. Airbus helicopters, formerly Eurocopter, are all metric. It's tricky now to get good AF tools. I bought some bluepoint 1/4 inch stuff on eBay. We're full tool control now so it's in my garage now.
