I think the later ones look great. Similar to the Cayenne (mk1 was horrid).
Well I agree that they look similar to the Cayenne. That's also minging.

What I mean is it has got better with the facelifts/tweaks, like the Cayenne. Not that it looks particularly like the Cayenne (beyond the common Porsche styling).

I know what you meant. I wasn't comparing the features, I just meant that the Cayenne is minging as well.

Amazing car to drive, but very long so awkward around town, and the looks still a little challenging.

Cracking second hand buy IMO

I think it looks OK, just a weird side profile.

Front section from a 911
Centre section from a 5 series
Rear section from an A3

Completely agree and they still look as bad as they always have...I saw one yesterday and I still thought it looked terribly ugly but I do respect them as a GT car and I am sure from behind the wheel the looks soon get forgot about.

To be fair I cant think of a good looking Porsche nowadays and I have huge respect for the brand but whenever I see a Boxster or Cayman the looks go through me, the odd 911 I see appeals but I think a Porsche must be purchased for the way they drive because its certainly not the looks that lure you in.

Aren't these knocking on Aston Martin Rapide prices, both new and second-hand?

Styling-wise you'd struggle to find two more different approaches to the same market!

An epic abortion of a car.

German manufacturers do seem to struggle in this department.

I wonder if they would have made a better job if they had made a proper saloon rather than finishing off with a dumpy hatchback rear end?

A four door Porsche sounds like it should be the ideal car. Good at going really fast in a straight line and not too bad in the corners either, characterful engines, nice interior, right badge (for those that care about such things) with the added practicality of 4 doors\seats and a decent boot. It SHOULD be what every Porsche loving family man aspires too when a 911 is just too impractical, in fact it should be a dead shoe-in as one of my ideal cars, the market was wide open for a luxury family car which drove really well and had decent brand kudos.

Unfortunately they made it ugly as sin, the front of a 911 grafted onto the back of a Audi A3 is NOT a good look Porsche, way to score a MASSIVE own goal.

I will add to the cry of ugly, but only because I am thinking about buying a used one for family duties alongside my 911 and I want the prices to keep dropping.

These are one of their best sellers, i think they look better on the road than in the pic's. I have had mine for 6 months and it is far better than the XF i had before.

They've grown on me too, particularly the facelift cars which have a cleaner rear end, from the front they've always looked good. O/T but to my eyes the new shape Mercedes C-Class takes the prize for most hideous saloon car, the rear and side views are awful.

They are nice up to the b-pillar. Slightly F550-ish. The rest can be crushed.

If anything I think they look worse than ever on the road but that doesn't change the fact they're bloody good and you can't see the exterior from the drivers' seat.

It isn't growing on me I'm afraid. Still looks as ugly as ever.
