I believe supercharging is the way ahead with these engines.

Also, you can take out the 3.2 to 3.7 ltr and the 2.5 to 3.3 ltr and stick Ferrari throttle bodies on. Mmmmm!

I would like one in an MGB GT with the Sebring body kit, in English white with a black roof, ta

Love my E92 V8 M3, and my Mk2 Escort which already has a swap for a Vauxhall C20XE "red top"

As fun as the Escort is, I can't help wondering how amazing it'd be with a V8 the same as the M3.

The M3 V8 is small and lightweight for it's displacement and power, and no longer than the XE ...... I even reckon it'd be fine for width too, since a Ford V6 can fit into an escort with a bit of a shove.

One day!

I put a 2.0 turbo engine into a corsa which ran 315whp at 960kg

That was fun!

But probably a p1 engine in the Mclaren F1 or the Mclaren F1 engine in a p1

Or a p1 engine in a 675lt

The correct way around!

The one to upset the purists would be the Ferrari F50 V12 into an F40.

People have started sticking a Honda K20 with a turbo in Fiestas for big power but really, having got one with about 300 bhp not sure it needs more power, and the standard 1.6 Turbo engine is good for a reliable 350 bhp, sometimes a little more taking some risk, and 400 plus on a forged bottom end.

Tuned 1.6 Fiestas will, once rolling outdrag a lot of standard stuff from a division or two up, Focus RS, A45 etc by virtue of only weighing 1200 kilos or less as plenty are knocking on for 300bhp/ton with 100 - 200 kmh times in the 8/9 sec range, mine is around 10 something.

Some times for comparison here.

That is impressive, was tailed by one down the A21 a few years ago when (very) late to a wedding and our M135i was only pulling yards from them at over 120mph or so and didn't get the sense that one was particularly heavily breathed upon!

Only thoughts was a relatively light weight, good handling hatch with a more torquey motor

I had an M135i before my ST, difficult to say which would have the edge as they are so different, 6 vs 4 cyl, manual v Auto, refined vs, er, not.

I suspect the ST is quicker now, or at least feels it, but those F20 M lites can also be tuned, particularly the M140i, 500 bhp is pretty easy to achieve and not that expensive.

I don't know about money no object, but one I'd love to do is an ST version of the original Puma, using a Fiesta ST 1.5 triple. The engines weigh within a couple of kilos of each other so there should be no major impact on balance or handling, but the new engine gives another 70 bhp!

The Puma's chassis is brilliant, and performance wise, just imagine a Fiesta ST with 200kg taken out of it.

Mate's friend had a 1600 BDA tuned engine in a Escort mkI van. Left some red faces on a few fast cars. Problem was he couldn't drive it fast in the rain due to the little wiper blades.

ITG and a re-map the 1.5 triple can see an easy 250bhp too...

I'd put the 6.2 V8 M156 AMG engine in a Toyota Prius.
