In this weather it's only going to get dirty again. I did get my car washed a few weeks ago. Within 2 days it looked as if nothing has been done, so what's the point? Also not much point in worrying about salt on a car used every day. Unless you wash it as soon as you get home it will only get more salt on soon after. Better to have a good layer of dirt to hold back the salt from metal until spring once the bad weather comes. Wipe the lights and number plate then give it all a good clean come spring IMO.

I'd like to believe this was true! It would give me a valid excuse for not bothering! hehe

5 years minus 2 days ago I embarked on a trip to Cornwall on an extremely cold early morning.

Only made it to Devon before the transmission went bang.

Pic been seen here a few times.

Car now sold......abused,broke,lost interest.

I'll post a picture after the Christmas weekend - Manchester to Halifax to County Durham to Leeds then back to Manchester. That should build up a lovely layer of grime on the Fabia Monte Carlo.

With a few exceptions; so far none of the pictures posted are actually that dirty. I may need to venture into the loft to find my old photos.

The sills on dirty cars are often the cleanest part as this is where your trousers/coat rub against it when you get in/out.
