Touring the Lake District in absolutely filthy weather. Loved it.

Excessive washing during winter will certainly increase the risk of micro-starches so better to minimise frequency.
However I suspect there are those who as a matter of course are less than fastidious about personal hygiene, the tidiness of their homes & gardens & who revel in being dirty & scruffy just to stick two fingers up to those who have better standards.
Reverse snobbery applies especially to those with expensive 4 x 4's & Supercars who intentionally don't bother to clean their cars in order to show the peasants & the poor they are so rich that such middle-class activities are beneath their dignity & they are not bothered about keeping something nice because they can easily go out & buy another.
Sorry but I can see through all this nonsense & am never impressed.

A wee note on the back of the photo saying it was de fleeted at 2 years and 127000m. It hard a hard life. I was a bit of a mad 21 year old.
