If it's to be a standard 'car' and not a 4x4, truck etc then I'd say a Nissan Leaf is a good bet.
I have a Mk1 Insight, no way on earth I am going anywhere near even mildy deep water with 175 volts that will happily kill you.
I'm still alive after going through some pretty big puddles in my Leaf.

Looks good. Back in the day we sealed the electrics on rc cars with rubber balloons and silicone sealant. I am sure that is what Nissan have done hehe

High voltage by itself is not dangerous. It is the current (Amps) which will kill you.
That's the problem with flooding. It's often the current that gets you.

We have always had Landcruiser 80's, currently we have one purely for when it floods at my wife's horse yard, well it is the only way in being a dead end road. Normal depth is about 1m after 3 days of rain, but its been over the bonnet before. Our last cruiser I fitted a snorkel, I sold that one & have yet to fit the snorkel to this "new" one that's done the grand total of 30 miles since I bought it in August hehe I'm sure it will get some use shortly!

This is what you need diesel & clockwork, standard air intake is in the topside of the inner wing at about 1.5m height. The only downside is the inevitable smelly carpet!

This is the flood, it's quite low in this clip, the tractor at 1min in gives some idea of the depth & this was in the lifted cruiser. My wife has been through it once & it came up to the windscreen yikes

The 80 series LC did well a few years ago wading through floods just below windscreen.
Yep, mine swam quite well. I had water over the bonnet (which is probably about 4ft high) on a few occasions with no harm done. It is slightly alarming crossing big fast rivers compared to floods as the current can start washing you downstream but all good fun. Surprisingly the door seals even kept all the water out the interior! Try that in a Landrover and you'll be needing wellies.

Thanks, I absolutely agree. Sadly now sold but it performed brilliantly frown.

The driver is a first class bellend but I am rather impressed the Yaris survived that, it looked like the back end was actually floating away at a couple of points.

Although the real idiot is the postman who follows. Just like the idiot who follows a car climbing an icy hill instead of waiting until it's clear ahead.

If you know what you are doing then something with good off roading capability like a Land Rover defender. Otherwise something sporty so you don't get a false sense of security like the twit in defender on the news recently.
Whats was that story ?! Sounds interesting.......

She kept momentum up, had a clear road ahead, handled the loss of back end grip perfectly and did it all while chatting in the phone and in a car no one would expect to be competent. If she was a bloke then she'd be a PH hero but sadly she is just another fking idiot cluttering the roads. wink

The postie, a man who drives for a living and would know that road like the back of his hand just waded in like a dumb sheep with no independent thought and as he made himself the car in front's bh he had to stop while she dealt with the slides and he fked himself.

That's incredible, she did very well either by blind luck or skill...love to have known what she was saying...."yeah I've just driven through, it's a piece of piss" biggrin
