Is that an M200? When i was in the envious position of having some money spent on me by my parents back in 2007 this had just been launched but i didnt get on with the looks so i got a year old 06 Ep3 (shes 10 this year!!) and its been a great purchase.
But... I now think these look brilliant, they have really grown on me. The CW / Mugen ones are great, they will age very well and stand out in a world of bland looking cars.
I've had mine for just under a year now and love it. I can see why some aren't as keen though - the ride is quite harsh and it does get a bit untidy on bumpy country roads, it's a noisy bugger on long motorway runs and the seating position could be better (the seats themselves are very good mind). I don't see the lack of torque as much of an issue, just give the gearbox a stir and you're well on your way.
My favourite bit - the noise! I'll probably look to get something else soon but I know I'll miss it.

Anyone know if the OEM wheels are heavy?
I wonder if fitting a set of (possibly much) lighter wheels would make a difference to ride.
When I've used ultra light wheels on cars, they did seem to "glide" over rough surfaces and noticeably improve ride.
19s are a bit OTT anyway. Superlight 18s would be the way to go.
The 18" wheels are heavy like most OEM wheels, about 12kg if I remember correctly. The 19" Rage wheels are bizarrely slightly lighter at 11kg, but the thin sidewall gives you a very brittle ride.I wonder if fitting a set of (possibly much) lighter wheels would make a difference to ride.

I've swapped mine for some 18" Rays wheels, about 8kg each, and the ride is much better. Was even cushier with 16" wheels, 6.5kg each, and Winter tyres.
A swap of springs to progressive items from Eibach or Tein also settle the ride a lot.

If any current owners are interested I have an HKS induction kit I removed from mine when I sold it and keep forgetting to put it on eBay.
Free plug for ya..... when I was considering modding my FN2 (while I was debating whether to stick or twist), this was one I had right near the top of my list for making the engine sound better, even over an exhaust. By all accounts these sound absolutely fantastic, and better than going for a droney exhaust that drowns out all of the lovely induction noise. I would definitely say that this combined with a Group N map would make this car sound demonic from any point 3800 rpm onwards (the Flashpro bizarrely made the car sound much better to me, probably because of the lowered VTEC point).Martin_Hx said:

I bloody loved it, although I really should be driving a generic diesel, just cannot bring myself to!
I've got a 10 plate FN2 at the moment, and used to own an EP3. I far far prefer the FN2, it's a much better car to drive, I like how it handles and as a bonus it actually has some steering feel unlike the EP3.
Ride isn't really much different. I found the EP3 was terrible to drive on anything except a completely smooth road. FN2 I've fitted Eibachs which has softened a bit and helped, but it's not any worse than many similar cars.
Not totally sure whether mine has a LSD or not because I've never driven a FWD car with one before to compare but it certainly has a lot more traction and feels far more planted than the EP3. Turn in is pretty sharp and it seems to have decent grip, I don't find it particularly understeery at all.
Could do with being a bit faster sure, but for what it is and running costs it's just fine.

If it's a torsen diff, they need provoking into action because they're otherwise invisible in day-to-day pottering about. Give it some welly in 2nd on a tight bend and it should hug the apex. If it ploughs on, or if the inside wheel spins up, you don't have a diff in it.SuperchargedVR6 said:

Cheers, that makes sense, I will have a play about with the traction control off and see what it does S13_Alan said:

What are the best options for sorting the ride, out of interest? Will dropping from the 19" to 18" alloys make it much better, or is there a better option that isn't eleventy billion pounds?

A 10 plate probably will have an LSD. Just looking at the used car section on Honda used cars shows all the 2009 face lifts have it. You have a face lift if you have HID.Ride isn't really much different. I found the EP3 was terrible to drive on anything except a completely smooth road.
