You've got video of her moving over into your lane to deliberately obstruct you. This is the type of footage that the police should see.

I would rather shove wasps up my **** than give her anything. Of course it's up to you if you can be bothered with the hassle or not.

Maybe she'll think twice now...
A non fault accident will load my insurance premium by so much you wouldn't believe. On a previous car, I was rear ended and crashed into whilst parked. My insurance rose from £1000 to £3500.

On another occasion, a Transit van side swiped me as he didn't see me in his blind spot. I was glad that he drove away and left the scene! Another non fault accident would've crippled me for years.

I strongly disagree with the insurance industry and its practices for situations just like this, their method clearly isn't fit for purpose when I can be hit and save huge amounts of money by paying for the offenders repairs irked

How old are you btw?

Only reason i ask is a friend of mine had an Audi S4 and his wife t boned a car on a roundabout.

All went through their insurance and his premium only went up by about £50, and that was with LV.

(Married couple in their 40's).

That seems quite reasonable, from reading on here some accidents don't raise premiums at all, but I imagine that is with older road users.

I'm 25 with 5 years no claims. My renewal was below £600 this year, I imagine if I add a non fault accident it will be significantly higher.

She's just called, had a few quotes and the best came in at £60. I said it sounds reasonable and I'll meet her and give her the cash tomorrow.

It'll make my life much easier going forwards (and save a packet of money compared to if we went through insurance!)

I will also try my best to educate her on the errors of her ways laugh
Direct her to look at these post on Pistonheads to see what a stupid tt we really think she is.

With the video I would have told her to stuff it.

Ah well, enjoy your evo, used to love mine (except at every 4500 mile service frown)

I drive that way home every day and it is a nightmare. I once witnessed a van straddle both lanes from the lights to the merge. Yes, it can be frustrating at rush hour watching people sail past, I just join them and do the same. "Pushing in." laugh

That whole stretch is terrible. People treat it like a DC. The speed camera van is there fairly regularly and I bet it nails absolutely loads of them.

Edit: If you ever see a really beat up blue 205 then beep!

When you say cash, do you have time to go to the bank to get it all in copper? smile

Don't.

If she gets the hump she may tell her insurance co, maybe just to cost you the extra premium to "teach you a lesson" Remember this person is a self styled judge, jury and executioner

Collision happens at 1:19
She tries to take a swerve at the Ford Pickup at 1:15. 100% her fault, no mirror check, no signal, just a blind move out into the other carrigeway.

I would pass the video to the Police.
Didn't look blind to me at all - it was clearly intentional.

She was straddling the white line to try and stop cars using the second lane and 'queue jumping'. After the first car managed to get through - she made a move to try and prevent the second one - then came across even further to try and stop the third resulting in the collision.

it would be very unfortunate if you paid for a replacement mirror for her, driving like that it's only a matter of time before it happens again or someone gets angry and kicks both her mirrors off.

it's better for you to pay but it will just make her think she can get away with ridiculous behaviour.

I'd be telling her she's lucky to be dealing with someone as nice as you, because it there are some horrible people that if she does that to might end up in road rage, is it really worth it.

I really wouldn't bother replacing her mirror and let her fume over it.

Why should you be paying for her mistakes? I wouldn't.

Because he will pay more if it goes through insurance even if judged to be her fault.

I would be saying things and showing her the video and saying you can pay the £60 for your own mirrors unless you want me to send the video to the police where they could potentially do you for careless or dangerous driving.

Pay for your own mirrors at £60 and in the future stay in lane
OR
Potentially have to pay £100 and get points or whatever else it is plus an insurance hike for your idiot behaviour.

That would be my argument, then I would stop answering the phone.

People who promulgate their made up 'law' of merge in turn on PH to justify any sort of selfish antics are not doing any of us any favours.

But that is irrelevant.

The inside car moved further into the outside lane just as the Evo was passing leaving him no chance, I wouldn't be paying for a new mirror.

I wouldn't pay. Let her claim off insurance it is a gamble but it is the principle of the matter she moved into your path.

Did no one notice that the Golf was stationary when the Evo hit it? How is that any different to the Evo hitting a parked car?

I mean, the Golf driver was being a dork, but I'm kind of surprised by everyone saying the Evo was "100%" not at fault. The Evo could have stopped, or moved further to the right to avoid a collision. But they didn't. The Navara made it through without making contact, and yet the 100% not at fault Evo did hit it?

It's like the traffic stopped specifically for that fight to start and moved again once finished.

50:50 technically because the overtaking car should have recognised that the gap wasn't big enough (or moved over further).

Of course, it's all really caused by the knob-end in the Golf trying to police the roads and stop people pushing in as he sees it, would love to see some of these twunts picked up for inconsiderate driving or something.
I doubt the idiot will even have learned his lesson. Utter knobhead straddling two lanes and trying to obstruct passing cars.
It's actually me who obliterates her wing mirror, according to her and the witness' I shouldn't have been "pushing in" (its about 250m before a merge in turn) and I owe her a wing mirror, she's getting an estimate from a garage today.

I imagine there is a strong argument for 50 50 as I could've probably stopped in time, might just pay for her wing mirror as the last time I had a non fault accident my insurance sky rocketed.
The witness is wrong (WD39 is it you). you should be claiming from her. if she decides to queue in the left hand lane when the road has been designed to have 2 lanes to the merge point then more fool her.
