I had an incident this morning. Sun was behind me and a car started to pull out, realised, stopped and backed up, he gave me a sorry wave, I gave him an it happens wave and we both carried on with our day.

In dashcam world I would have rushed up to him, slammed my "breaks" on and then called him a c bomb whilst beeping the horn. Is that the correct approach?
I think a quick acknowledgement of a genuine mistake with the hand/hazards helps to diffuse a situation in most cases.

I think now more than ever though, is this self of entitlement that some drivers have thinking they can do no wrong. You cut someone up, they sound the horn briefly and then everyone gets on with their day.....not anymore. They take offence to the beep as if the other driver is wishing death on their whole family.

Seems nowadays the only safe use of a horn is at the MoT testing station-everywhere else it is either used or taken to be used to mean ****off.

Kid driving the Polo is clearly a , out looking for confrontation. Dashcammer is a because they clearly speed up to attempt to block the Polo from entering "their" lane. They could also have just pulled over and left Polo boy to it instead of achieving the square root of fk all by getting involved.
he's a scrawny little st, I bet he looks carefully at the person he's about to intimidate before doing so - most would easily kick the st out of him in a confrontation

to be fair if a biker stormed up behind me at full pelt and then was buzzing around my window the first thing I wouldn't be thinking was "oh that kind gentleman must have selflessly picked up an item I accidentally dropped".

To be fair, any reasonable person's first reaction wouldn't be to flip off a random stranger.

He did it because he knew he'd pulled out in front of the bike and thought the biker was now coming to have a pop at him.

Instant karma.

Bonus points if the biker had ttted his wing mirror as well. biggrin

True, but hopefully most decent humans wouldn't instantly react by telling the biker to fk off or stick their fingers up at them.

Have to say, I don't think I could have dropped the phone. I'm just not that type of person. Car driver fully deserved some karma though and as others have said, who's first response would to swear at someone?

I hope the phone smashed to pieces and didn't just get a small scratch.

Pretty sure that's the sleeve of his clothing. Still if it smashed, GOOD!

Ahh I think you may be right after watching it again, wishful thinking on my part!

I think I would have rather thrown it into a nearby thorny bush, and then stay and watch as he got ripped to shreds trying to retrieve it.

His phone would have been scuffed/smashed anyway, so biker didn't "technically" damage any property, just letting gravity continue its merciless path.
