The golf driver was (is) a weapons grade bell-end. He was in the wrong lane in the first manoeuvre, and then continued and drove in a manner that would easily have stood up in court as dangerous driving. Nothing more needs to be said on the matter.
Absolutely. But two mongs don't make a right. Did the very deliberate blocking action of Sump make the situation less dangerous or more dangerous?Impasse said:

Letting the already hot-headed Golf driver get on with things wouldn't have interrupted your journey to any serious degree. Your method of "teaching him a lesson" was to prolong his TED to the point where an already questionable (but otherwise actionable) overtake became impossible and antagonised his mindset to the point of red mist. Someone like that is always going to get in front of you no matter the consequences to others.
You needlessly and deliberately attempted to police the roads and subsequently contributed to road rage instead of extending your journey by three seconds. I'd suggest next time you let them disappear over the horizon and concentrate on your own journey.

Interesting as, from the video, the Golf was slightly behind you at the line, and he actually had the lead on you from take off, even with you accelerating hard.
It looks to me like he did lose his nerve and drop back rather than you "beat" him.
Good effort though.
He was off for the straight before I was and you will hear me go into second gear at around 4000 rpm. If I went flat out from the start he wouldn't have even been in the shot It looks to me like he did lose his nerve and drop back rather than you "beat" him.
Good effort though.

Was it a Golf R? Surely anything other than an R would be shown a clean pair of heels by a DB9?It looks to me like he did lose his nerve and drop back rather than you "beat" him.

With the current model the standard wheels on the GTD and GTi are different but you can have the same style of 19" alloys as an option on either. With the model in the video they've either been bought as a VW accessory or salvaged/stolen off a GTi, or they're replicas.I'll hold my hands up and admit I would do the same this as Sump.
The Golf driver's a total bellend. That slight bit of satisfaction on Sumps part is worth the Golf driver getting a tad annoyed about it.
His road positioning is terrible, deliberately in the wrong lane, wrong side of the island is just crazy!
Sump could argue all he was doing was getting up to speed. He wasn't aggressive, he didn't get too close to the Astra in front and it doesn't look like he brake tested the Golf.
Fair play I reckon, in this instance.
P.S. - the music is indeed terrible though!
