I'm in two minds about the Yaris v BMW incident.

Obviously the BMW can't be completely blameless but all the Yaris driver had to do was brake in a straight line which he couldn't manage.

Ultimately you should be prepared to stop around every corner, but in practice this is very difficult to observe all the time.
Certainly too difficult for this chapfrown

Notwithstanding the wide-angle lens's effect on speed and distance, I'd say he was travelling too quickly for the conditions - though the BMW driver didn't help matters.

I seriously doubt this will be the (former) Yaris driver's last 'accident'...

I find it odd that the BMW driver didn't seem to stop. I find it hard to believe (unless he/she was totally oblivious) that they didn't see/hear the Yaris over turning.

But anyway, if he hadn't braked he would have been ok, there would have been no collision.
This is pretty much my view too. I'm not sure there is any blame to attribute for a collision that wasn't going to happen.

The Yaris driver or car (if the tyre prediction is right) just reacts totally wrongly and basically puts itself in the wall. It really didn't need to happen. My guess is driver hasn't got loads of experience and panic-steered left while braking or car lurched left due to stty brakes/tyres with same end result of wheel going onto soft verge
I'd still put a lot of blame on the BMW. If you drive in a way that makes other road users perform emergency stops or manoeuvres, you are doing something badly wrong

I agree.

Yaris driver was obviously inexperienced and reacted to the BMW. The Tsris may also have had tyre or brake issues

The woman looked very upset and stressed. In situations like this (where someone brake-checks you) just leave it. Get some distance between you and the car in front and enjoy the rest of the day.

People can be in all sorts of emotional states when they're driving and you never know how many are on the edge of flipping for whatever reason.

Best not to get involved. There's no value in trying to score points against other drivers.
Having watched his other video - Compliation 8 or something - he appears to be a complete tool. Overly aggressive, angry and I am guessing small. Everyone else is an idiot and he is a shining knight in a white van attitude. Yes some of the "idiots" in his videos are idiots but most are his making.
She has a great figure, very sexy, hopefully she'll read that here as the twt has disabled comments probably due to get many folk suggesting he seeks help with driving and attitude.

Based on centre 'hazard' lines being at the regulation nine meter interval, Mr Yaris is indeed doing about 55-60. Too fast for the conditions if "conditions" include shinky tyres and tired suspension. Poor overtake from the BM, but Yaris is *very* slow to start taking action and managed to have an accident all on his own.

The bit about him expecting the BMW to pull back in behind is telling. They're level when he first sees them, and bailing out of an overtake that's 60% done is nightmare scenario as the mostly-overtaken car has often seen the hazard and started slowing down too...

Agree - almost, gentle braking then releasing the brakes would have cleared the BMW.

I think he stabbed the brake pedal through shock and inexperience, and unfortunatly just as he crested a hill that also jinked right. That combination led to catastrophe. I like to think if it was me I wouldn't have made those mistakes, and would have aimed my car at the gap, possibly would have had to have gone up the bank a bit. Easy to say, obvs.

That was a standout thing for me, who the hell wears a go pro while driving a car? I can understand bikers but a car has many more places to put a camera.

And seeing him crawling from the wreckage (apologies D Edmunds G Parker) with it still attached must have been a WTF moment for the good samaritan.
Reminds me of these:

Cant believe the Yaris video comments.

Coming over a crest you're faced with a car heading towards you in your lane. You slow, brake and eventually pull left to avoid what you think is going to be a head-on collision.

And apparently its the Yaris driver's fault for not dabbing the brakes, keeping cool and calm and slotting past the oncoming car?! Behave. 90% of people would soil themselves when faced with that situation. 100% BMW fault for overtaking when coming up to a bend, on a crest, when you cannot see the road is clear ahead.

Plus the camera is on the driver's head which gives a better view ahead than the eye would see.

1 or 2 seconds faster for either car and its a head on with possibly two fatalities.
