Because every time you block someone in L1, you contribute to that driver becoming a MLM.

As mentioned, van driver should've indicated.

If people can't be arsed to even flick an indicator on why should anyone else go out of their way to help them make a manoeuvre that they may not even make?
You always have to factor in that the indicator may have just failed. I would always try to be prepared for anyone just pulling out on me, and tend to actually change lanes before the other vehicle even begins its manoeuvre.

But it's still possible to get caught out..

You are half the problem, as long as people like you call it the fast lane people will treat it as such
I see what you're saying. It really is the passing lane. You get in it. Overtake and get out. No reason to stay in it. My choice of words was wrong.

I am now utterly terrified of new-shape Corsas in red with white stripes. Oh, and Mike Sandland might be Britain's angriest man. It's either him or the guy who disabled his comments on his compilations of going spare at roundabouts.

Was it the same cobra striped red corsa in the 3:16 video and then the next one?

Note to self, if I see a red Corsa with white stripes, stop.

I thought the same! The first one's a five-door, the second's a three-door. Not impossible they crashed between those two clips though. biggrin

Panicked and target fixated on the sign rather than looking around the corner. No excuse for not making that corner other than crap riding.

Easily avoided I'm afraid, put simply, you go where you look, all he had to do was to take his eyes off the sign. Glad not injured.

Yeah it's very easy to do. It's not that he misjudged it so much as it's target fixation. You go where you look on a bike and he started looking at the sign and you see him straightening up instead of staying leaned over.

There's a technique called counter-steering which it makes it dead easy to avoid that kind of situation. There is a limit to counter steering but it's when you're cranked over so far over that the side of the bike contacts the ground and you slide straight out the corner along the deck. Common cause of death on country roads.

EDIT: Deleted this because it's just repeating what the guys above were saying laugh

Not a biker but always applied the same rule to mountain biking, stare at the tree and you'll hit it!
