What the hell was the Galaxy playing at? Could they not see the big yellow van heading straight for them!?

It's lucky the van was able to get in front of the lorry, couple of seconds slower and I'm not sure they could have squeezed over like the car managed to.

I would assume the cam car knew the road as I wouldn't have started the pass until the van was clear in case the lane disappeared.
How the hell the galaxy didn't see the van though.

Agreed. The lane was the Cam Car's, the dashed line the other way only allows oncoming cars to use that lane if clear. It wasn't.

There were no signs warning that the lane ends at any point soon though? The van was making decent enough progress past the lorry so I wouldn't have had a problem following behind like the car did.

We've had this discussion before about these overtaking lanes and the fact is any PERCEIVED "right of way" is secondary to not causing an avoidable accident.

Yes, cam-car should have felt perfectly safe even if he couldn't see the road ahead was clear, but as demonstrated in the clip, you have to drive like there's a bellend around every corner (or in front of the yellow van).

I don't like not being able to see past the vehicle in front, even on a motorway. I drive like everyone else is a moron and is going to do something really stupid. Like they did in this video.

Camera car was overtaking blind from 0.30 for 15 seconds before the near crash. He/she was an idiot. As was the oncoming car aiming for a head on with the yellow van.

Agreed with both. Always an element of risk with something high sided in front of you, after watching it again perhaps it would have been wiser for the cam car to drop back a bit further. Just shows how things can change in a split second!

Looks like they have the number plate of the galaxy, should be done for dangerous driving!
