Cammers acceleration looked like panic attempt at getting out of way to me, and it was the lunatic bus driver who caused that panic.

Bus was legally entitled to travel maybe 3mph faster than it was before the overtake- so driver knew that his overtake would be suicidal unless either car slowed down, he substantially exceeded speed limit, or oncoming traffic took evasive action. He was not entitled to assume any of these- he appears to have assumed all of them.

Either way he needs to lose his job and license.
The fk is wrong with you?
Is that actually how you think, or are you trolling?

"Hey, I'm in an ever decreasing gap I created. Better accelerate into it, rather than hit the breaks and he'll fly right by."

Mac, you need to have a stern talk with yourself in the mirror. Your behaviour behind the wheel is entirely inexcusable.

Agreed. Except it is brakes not breaks. Unless you mean stopping to eat a kitkat smile

..and lets be fair, its probably a lease which as we all know have a very different run-in period to a car we actually own!

The manual says to stay below 5500rpm until you hit 1200 miles and then get it serviced.

Even leased, surely they'll know you haven't done that?

Maybe so. Do we think press launch cars or other cars roadtested in magazines or similar arent abused more...?

I didn't say it was how I would react- I just said it looked like a panic reaction as opposed to an aggressive one.. Were you driving the bus?

Bullst. You don't panic in response to someone being alongside you by trying to block the overtake. Utter nonsense. Stop making excuses for that Class A cretin. He tried to cause a head on crash.

Well, if you think that bus driver was driving safely, just say so! I certainly don't think cammer's reaction was a good one- but he didn't create the situation. Don't really understand the ' Are you trolling' unless it is just meant as abuse.

When someone is doing something moronic you don't follow up with something moronic also to prove a point.

Back off let it past, report the reg to the police with a video. End of story. Initiating an accident is just plain stupid from every angle.

He really did.

Up until he decided to try and block the bus it was just a st overtake by the bus. Everything after that point was entirely of the camera-car's making.

If he'd slowed down or stopped, the bus would've got past. If he'd carried on at his current speed the bus would've got past. The collision happened because he sped up. That was ENTIRELY his fault.

They'll get given hell! My brother in law works for a big car company who on the release of 2 of their newest performance cars had a big performance day at the dealers.

They were giving passenger rides to anyone who wanted one and they were giving each car death every time, no run-in, nothing! Brand new cars being given a spanking and even using launch control straight off the transporter! I suspect most modern cars can handle it but even so, I wouldn't want to buy either car that was used that day!

Nothing fundamental has changed in engine design. It'll still do damage to spank a car before it is run in.

Off thread, though!

More dheads accelerating into danger, please.

I'm not saying the bus was right. I'm saying that the cam car was worse, and caused the incident to move from "what a dick" to "actual accident where people could be hurt".

Anyway, I know that you know exactly what I meant. You're just being a dick to prove a point - just like the vast majority of dashcam men. In fact, I bet you have a dashcam.

Hmmm the manufacturers I have worked with run in their cars for a few thousand miles before letting the press or dealers spank them. I wonder what big car company that was!

You're the one who seems to have difficulty being civil! No dash cam for me. Don't even like satnav really. I prefer to concentrate on the driving- and I suspect you do too, so our views are probably not that far apart. Let's agree to leave it at that.
