Are we watching the same video?

Bike glides into a space, no rushed moves no sudden changes of course or speed. He glides in at a leisurely pace over the space of a few seconds in the drivers view. After it's all said and done, only then does the driver sound the horn.

What exactly are they on the horn for?

  • IF* the driver saw a potential hazard from their point of view, why did they wait until the merge was over, why not do it with the bike along side so that the bike can have the opportunity to fall back to the space behind?
Also while i'm at it, does anyone have the definition of circle-jerk to hand? I looked up the dictionary and it pointed me to these comments...?
If you look closely the biker ends up matching his speed to the car speed not far away from the front bumper. This is forcing the car to do something to avoid putting the biker in danger, hence he quite rightly gets a mouthful from the guy.

Cam man: You're a tt. The initial "dick move" had no impact on anyone whatsoever. The second "dick move" was almost certainly purely to annoy you, because you;re a visible road captain. I bet you pay for sex.
Love it. He couldn't care one jot that he has a dashcam, good for him.
I don't think anyone came out of that video well. However, as some kind of mitigation, that stretch of the A41, which is in north Watford, is a a bit of a nightmare at the best of times; let alone with all the roadworks that were going on when this was filmed.
The traffic light phasing is st,so people get stranded in the middle of the roundabout, often in the wrong lane, then have to force there way across as no one will let them in, just as the merge point is starting. And because it's Watford, and everyone drives like an angry self-entitled ahole and doesn't do lane discipline, this is a regular outcome rolleyes

Biker is a nobber.
I agree but surely no man would allow another man to shout at them while wagging their finger, unless you are a child and its your dad.
Even though those types of videos are always full of comments like "if he tried that on me I'd knock him out" in the real world this rarely happens. Through a combination of shock, uncertainty, common sense and self preservation most people do not like getting into a physical altercation. He deserved to be shouted at as well - that was dangerous riding and if he did get knocked off it would likely have been blamed on the car driver.
Some people seem to feel that a record for common assault may limit their immediate career choices.

Perhaps the bike rider had a moment of clarity in which he realised, that as offensive as the manner in which it was being delivered was, the advice he was receiving was valid, and perhaps in a sense he was simply 'manning up' to his mistake.
After all, arguing when you know you are wrong isn't really very clever.

Last driver must have had a 'superman' moment, either that or he/she was high as a kite.

1:07. DCW takes no evasive action, does not brake. Seems like they crashed to make a point.

With that first one I know there might be something wrong with me, but honestly - I would ram them. And have no compunction about doing so.

The last driver was well covered by the normal press I seem to remember, it was in the recent London floods. I don't think I ever saw a conclusion though and I seriously hope their insurance company told them to get stuffed for being stupid.

Instead the biker sat there like a little girl, pathetic.
Easy to say that, sometimes it's just a bit easier to sit there and let someone rattle off.

I think it takes a certain amount of gall to get out of your car and up in someones face as it is.
If you say or do the wrong thing they are quite likely to escalate it and let's be honest who has time for fisticuffs in the street?
Suppose there's not much you can do when your straddling a bike other than take the verbal pasting.

Perhaps his Zafira was on fire and he had to put the flames out.

Is there something silver/white floating around at face height on the driver's side? Watch the slo-mo replay at the end.

Given it is mid-bend when the van comes into sight, heavy braking would be a problem, it would have been wiser to ensure they could stop in the space that can be see to be clear.

I think as he was entering a different speed limit zone, he may have been looking at his speedo.
