I have the pleasure of using that roundabout every day - had some very narrow escapes over the years!

The closest one I've ever had was on the road further back from that roundabout (video was posted on the old thread). They put a roundabout type junction in the middle of a main road but gave priority to the main road...people using the junction think its a roundabout and have right of way.

Well, what with the run-up to Christmas, suppose everyone was taking it easy having had a drink or two, thus a lack on reportage.

I know you're not suggesting as much, but that's not the worst driving in the world.

I can see very easily how that happens. Dark, wet, looks plausible as a lane to be in, assume the guy doesn't know the area and that's a mistake any of us could make and one I've certainly made myself.

Got a Google maps to where that it is? To me it looks like you're both in the wrong lane, though happy to stand corrected

Yes, do please supply a map! I couldn't manage to reconcile lanes and lane markings properly from what could be seen in the video.

A normal road user wouldnt have access to google maps
Assume its a dark night, the road markings are half worn out or obscured by the car in front. How would many people use the junction. Which car is behind in the video and can see whats going on so should cede priority?
On a roundabout isnt the rule give way to any other road user?

The way I see it is, you're behind so should anticipate st driving ahead.

But the lane the one guy is in should be the first two exits.

The lane the op is in is third exit from where he has come from, but at the same time the lane he is in, is the correct exit lane for where he exited for traffic coming from his right.

But I stand to be corrected

Me too teacher
Roundabouts seem to work better when there are no lane markings where it's accepted the other guy is either going to turn off or continue around the roundabout and best make sure not to be alongside them when they do that.

I'm with OP here, the offender crossed a white line on his right, had he correctly followed the white line to his left it appears to lead off the roundabout onto the inside lane of the dual.

On the flip side to me that exit isn't straight over, it feels more like second left watching the video with straight over being the road he took.

To those suggesting I'm in the wrong lane here, I'm in the middle of the three and coming off at the double turn off....

Peat Road roundabout, Glasgow

A known problem spot, which is long overdue a rethink. It's been terrible roundabout for years.. then they built a huge shopping centre right next to it, which didn't help.
