How about a video!! Nothing major, just a silly little lady in a Fiesta being aggressive for the traffic being slow.

Let me save everyone 100 seconds of their life, don't bother , seriously, NOTHING happens. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gc9-2i10AII
Why even go to the effort of uploading it?
Honestly, he's not joking. Go watch the kettle boil because it's far more exciting, at least something happens with the kettle.

Merge like a zip. Simple.
And how often does that work ?....based on what I see the tts on UK roads always screw it up by pushing OR blocking....so lane one moving works better just as often.
More education is needed....bring back Mr Bumble's's Government Information Films.

Ashley, try harder.

The only difference is more aggressive people will 'push' further on in L2 then 'push' in to L1 near the pinch point.
The reason people object to it, is because its very un-British. We queue brilliantly, we're world leaders at it. Even at the roughest Wetherspoons, etiquette is shown.
Agree with that, the implementation on paper is perfectly fine and in many cases works very well and 2 lanes do of course hold more traffic, but on others, for example temp roadworks, the people who race to the end of the lane to get in front are exhibiting bad manners. The reason people object to it, is because its very un-British. Should be left to tut-tutting though

Other than the fact that they were on their own side of the road and completely within the law you mean?
It surprises me because if you understood anything about advanced driving/riding you'd have known that.
Victim blaming all over this thread. It's a commonly used term, "owning the road" when all theyre doing is what is prescribed in any good riding manual. It surprises me because if you understood anything about advanced driving/riding you'd have known that.
Anyway back on topic....I'll find a video to post shortly.

I've learned to skip over his posts, ditto anything by Vipers because he always puts a stupid smilie emoticon at the end of every post like a teenage girl who has to put "LOL XOXO" all the time and it annoys me.
One less reader, that will save the world. The smile is because I am happy.zedx19 said:

OH MY GOD NOOOO, we will now have 10 pages of the monthly zip merge cobblers.
That's why I posted it. We haven't had one for a little while. As for this:

Whats the issue? Ultimately the exact same amount of traffic is going to pass through, whether it be in L1, L2 or a mix of the two.
The issue, since you're so blissfully unaware, like most cocksockets, is this:What you can see there is the end of the queue just about to increase in length so that it will be blocking the entry/exit to a large supermarket. Just round the bend, obscured by the undergrowth, is a very busy roundabout which will end up with that single queue of traffic backing up round it, thereby interfering with other traffic that's not even heading down this DC.
You are correct in saying regardless of which system is used the same amount of vehicles will get through in the same amount of time. The reason for using both lanes is demonstrated in the pic above (queue length) and my first pics of the wker Road Captains blocking the open lane, namely, if both lanes were used NOBODY could "jump the queue". There would be no space to be able to do that so nobody would be getting wound up.

Why have they carried on driving ?Youtuber said:
it was the wife of the person that sent in the video. He explained that she didn't do many motorway miles and being a single female in the vehicle didn't know what to do. I accept this as she's not a regular driver. She did phone the emergency services and has offered the footage to the police. No updates and haven't found any story in any press on this issue.
