Do you have one?

Either an ultra rare car you would like to own or perhaps a version of a car that is only rumored to exist.

My examples aren't really that exciting I'm afraid.

An Australian special edition MGTF made in very limited numbers. A few are rumored to have stayed in the UK. I got wind of one once but it had been sold when I got to the garage. I still don't know if it was one or not.

Another MG I'm afraid. By he rumored MGF 160 - not the trophy but a normal spec model with the Trophy engine. Rumoured to exist. They are listed at the DVLA but it could be an admin error and they could be ordinary Trophy models. Like all good myths, I know a bloke who knew a bloke who worked at a Rover dealer who had one.

The last one the Range Rover Olympic. A grey 2 door made for a motor show. A couple were made. I've seen photos of one in a delapidated state.

So do you have a motoring Holy Grail? Perhaps a rumored model of car that you'd like to own.

It doesn't have to be exotic, it could be a Fird or a Ferrari

That was my idea, back in pre 07 when hunting for my dream car.

Would it be all, I thought it would be to own and drive?

However if I had not, pushed the boat out so to speak I would know?

Worse thing buy it, if not my cup of tea sell it.

The thing is I would know either way.

The only bonus at the time, value wise they were rock bottom.

Prototype Vantage. One of a kind, used for the Motorshow launch in 1992 and brochure.

Vantage Le Mans. One of 40. Unique colour combination.

Being an MG fan like yourself, I would love an example of this stillborn project.

The E46 M3 GTR. An truly mad car of which BMW sold 10 to the public. Even gave Porsche a good spanking in the American Le Mans series also. It came first and third!

Here is an article on the GTR, and the wikipedia page for the 2001 season for the American Le Mans series.

Havent got a holy grail car but a pretty rare car being a mk1 mx5 vr ltd spec b only something like 400 cars made in this spec for the jap market so not many in the uk. Think I will keep it for a while cant see anywhere else the value is going to go but up.

Out of interest, why a RHD F40? I'd prefer a proper LHD.

Why use a LHD in the UK, when there's a RHD? nuts

McLaren F1 LM. 1 of 6.

McLaren themselves are known to retain F1 XP1LM. Yoshio Tsuzuki owns F1 Le Mans LM2, and Ralph Lauren LM3. LM1, LM4 and LM5 owned by the Sultan of Brunei.

The Maserati MC12 for me. It is my ultimate dream car and there is no car I would rather have instead of it*.

*Perhaps the Corsa version but being track-only makes it less appealing.
