Can you tell me more - PM if you wish to keep this on track.

Talking of which, another car that ended up in Brunei - Bentley Hunaudieres

The appatures around the rear lights had shocking sanding/grinding marks under the paint etc though I appreciate they may have been against the clock to get it ready for shows.

Rear lights on the show car (/2) were indeed a problem: They were from the C4 Corvette, but as AML weren't allowed to use them in production they had to go to considerable expense to reverse engineer their own. It was too difficult/expensive to put reflectors on the perimeter like the Corvette had so they had to add two rectangular reflectors, as used on the XJ40, on the bumpers for /5 and the production cars.

I'm a big Alfa Romeo enthusiast, so the Tipo 33 is the obvious choice. It's a very pretty car, but if there was a TZ2 Stradale then that would be at the top of the list for me.

It was a long time ago but the car I remember had oblong rear lights?

As for how many? Nobody seems quite sure, but less than ten survived...
Always loved the aggressiveness of these!

Three made and none in public hands:

Several production-ready prototypes built, but no production:

Plenty made, but only a handful left:

Was either a Virage or one of the Virtage mule prototypes (/1, /3 or /4) then.

I think that the dark blue Virtage had them.

Sorry.....but you're all wrong...THE holy grail for any petrolhead is the one and only Lamborghini Muira P400 Jota of which only one was ever made and subsequently destroyed in a crash.

This is a very nice replica...

Saab NG 9-5 Estate. Before Saab fell into difficulty, they produced mules and prototypes of a long awaited estate version of the 9-5 saloon. The production version never came into fruition, and the mules were auctioned off. A few people have bought these and have managed to legalise them for the road. Only problem is that due to parts availability, if someone bashes the rear light cluster, the car will be most likely written off. I'd have a 2.8t Aero XWD in Java brown or Fjord Blue.
Funny you should say that, I was behind one of the saloons at the weekend, and noted it had a smashed offside light cluster. Explained to my passenger it might remain like that for a good long while due to the rarity of the car.

There wasn"t a blue one. The silver, gold and black cars had the Virage rear lights (from VW).

Only 1 made and subsequently restored. Managed to see it in 2013:

Sorry, yes; black. I've always had it in my mind's eye as blue and now I'm having difficulty in shifting that image!

I've thought of another, marginally more realistic than a TZ2.

The Lancia Hyena. I loved my integrale, and this would be a good wet-weather companion to the RZ. smile

Many moons ago, I used to play with Mk1 Fiesta XR2's. I always aspired to own a very rare version of the XR2 called the Lumo 105T. It was basically a turbo kit bolted onto a standard XR2 and produced 105bhp. Very, very few were made - without digging out my old files, I would guess no more than 20. I actually found one 'around Manchester' at the time, but the owner didn't want to sell. I eventually found an 'almost as rare' Janspeed turbo kit and bolted it to my own car. Not quite as special as a genuine conversion, but I never saw another one!

The other car I would love to own now (and hopefully keep for a very long time) would be an Evo 6 RS Sprint. I think they sold 20ish and were basically UK versions of a Jap special. I remember reading the road test (Evo mag maybe) back in 1999 and immediately loved everything about them.
