My rears are coming to the end of there life and I have been looking to replace the dreadful run flats with standard tyres and come across a new brand " Davanti " OK I know what you are thinking and I was what the hell are these crap until I done some research online and infact for the price they are really good tyres for very little money and suppose to be on par and above branded makes.

My tyre supplier who I have been to for many years says don't waste my money on premium brands these are brilliant.

My sizes are :

275-35x19 - Back
245-40x19 - Front

RATINGS:

WET 100%
DRY 80%
C on the fuel efficiency.

Total cost just under £400 for all 4 fitted and balanced.

Yes would rather have some premium brand tyres at 5-6mm than some cheap crap.

Davanti are simply re-branded Chinese tyres.

IME tyre suppliers recommend anything that they can put a big markup on, so that tends to mean budget or cheaper mid-range tyres. The usual line is that xyz tyre is made by Continetal/Goodyear etc. and exactly the same the premium offerings. The truth is that the company that made it may well be owned by a major tyre manufacturer, but that doesn't guarantee anything in terms of performance.

Except no-one ever just pootles....we all take unfamiliar bends in the rain and dark and when one wanders a few MPH over whats right for the conditions the quality of rubber is what makes the difference.

I wouldn't say that they was "cheap" at near £100 a corner and those people who has said they are Crap bullst have you actually tried them or is it just a Brand you have never heard from that makes you say they are rubbish.

It is not just a back street garage trying to sell me what ever they make the most profit on , I know the guy pretty well and he assures me they are a better than average tyre at a reasonable price.

Can't be worse than what I have on now Goodyear Excellence runflats a flip of the throttle and they always seam to spin the rears .....ok only 3-4mm remaining on the tyre and worn more on the inside for some reason, been told BMW do this and very common.

I may wait a little longer as they have not long been on the market so not an awful lot of reviews yet but the ones I have seen do look good.

New EU tyre labelling means every tyre is put through the same test Michelins , Pirelli , Dunlops or Davanti if they have the EU labelling they must all go through the same test and wet grip is 100% not even the branded tyres or should I say most of them do that.

They must be really good, he's not a regular poster but he's made an exception to his lurking role just to tell us how good his generic Chinese import tyres are. I think you are just being cynical.

A lot of the non car enthusiasts I know stick to the speed limits religiously and drive fairly sedately and thus I can't see run of the mill chinese tyres not being suited to the job. I had to run Durun Sport One's for a while and for normal driving they certainly did the job.

That is the most sensible reply I have had Yadizzle1. I have been driving for over 30 years and I would say I'm still a pretty sensible driver and if you going fast and taking risks in the wet and in the dark round bends and roads you don't know then you must accept what eventually will happen to you and it's these idiots why Insurance Premiums are so high.

Terrible grammar. "Don't trust no one but family" attitude. Running a Beamer on a shoestring. Gets grumpy when people who know tell him his Chinese Ditchfinders will not be better than a grand's worth of Pirelli. Thinks that the answer to having fitted crap tyres is to just drive slower everywhere.

Yup, got your number.

I'm out.
