That's the bit I don't understand. I'm not against budget tyres. Never have been hell I've even got 4 brand new Nexens on the crv. And they are ok.

Wives shopping car yeah why not. 30k bmw. Why, there are so many great not very much more expensive fantastic tyres out there.

Again I wouldn't say they are a budget tyre please remember this and I can not comment on their performance as not had long and my driving style is laid back not foot down everywhere.

30k ...lol yeah for the extras smile

So, better than ditchfinders; equal to Nexens; not as good as Contis.

The Contis they were compared to were tested in 2014 by Auto Express, performed averagely, in a mid range category.

Looking through the extras list.

Run flat tyres. You ticked that box, are the new tyres run flats?

Also, ncap sticker and England version. Does that mean there is a Wales and Scotland version of the car?
With built in sheep and a deep fat fryer? biggrin

I don't care about the tyres, or the maker.
They don't do off road tyres so are irrelevant for me.

Unless some one has them fitted and runs into the back of me.

No choice in the matter.

Replacing runflats with standard tyres is a common choice for BMW owners for reasons various discussed elsewhere.

Ultimately a side-issue to the main discussion though.

Long term (ish) user here.

I had a set fitted on my 04 Mini Cooper S in August last year as i was intending on selling the car but, after 6 months and nearly 4000 miles i cant fault them.
They have had plenty of abuse and are very well scrubbed in, and not once have i thought i wish id bought the Bridgestone's again.

I will say they have completely changed the way i look at tyres after only ever using premium brands so much so im going to buy two more for the rear next week, then plan on putting them through there paces at both Oulton Park and Bedford Autodrome this year and see if they can stay on the pace as well as the Bridgestones.

I shall report back after Bedford Autodraome in May but for now im one happy Davanti customer!

Unfortunately I am not the original owner so never had the option at new, from what I have read on forums most BMW owners change to standard tyres from Runflats for obvious reasons.

What I have found changing from runflats to standards is the ride is so much better pot holes speedbumps. I will also mention how quiet they are and the difference is night and day when compared to the runflats. The steering feels so much more responsive and lighter than before but still feels connected to the tarmac (Sorry A.J.M I used the word Tarmac) something your off roader won't be very good on and your more likely to go into the back of me being honestsmile

At the moment I am pretty happy with the tyres in regards to the noise levels and steering feel but I will need more time and better road conditions than at present especially when you have the power my car has.

Thanks for the above another positive review.

Well the easiest way to prove it is to do as ljw did. Post a picture.

Won't prove he's not got a connection to Deviant, but will prove he's not spouting for the sake of it........

We'll see, but it is still pathetic that the burden of proof should rest on the shoulders of those not condemning the products out of hand.

WTF should he have to post a picture to prove he's got them any more than you should post one to show you've not got them?

It might be difficult for the driving gods and superiority complexes on this thread to understand but there must be a growing number of people with Davanti tyres, the overwhelming majority of whom will be quite happy with them. Because your average Joe doesn't notice any difference in tyres. And if (as the reports so far say) they are comparable with decent brands why would they?

Looking at their FB they seem to be positioning themselves at the premium market. Doing a giveaway too (but it does mean liking the page!). https://www.facebook.com/davantityres/

There are a lot of mentions in this thread along the lines of it being acceptable to put suspect types on their wife's/mother's/nan's car - the theory I guess being that they aren't pushing the vehicle to their limits and hence don't really need something that costs £20 more a corner.

Is there not a bit of a fault with this logic in that the time when your loved one is really going to need their tyres will be when they're aquaplaning across a dual carriageway, struggling on ice, or slamming on to avoid some dhead merging into their line at 70mph? I agree that 90% of the time you're right and they are making a saving on cheaper rubber but for when they need them why wouldn't you make sure they have the best chance not to get in a potentially life changing accident? Think about the peaks of the use - not the average.

Where does that attitude end anyway? The airbag warning light is on in my missus' car - but she only runs the kids to and from nursery? She only drives a couple of miles a day so it was more cost effective to put a baby seat on a CBR?

I dunno - those are daft examples but there is some weird logic on display at times here.

On the subject of these exact tyres, I wouldn't risk them. They could be ace but there's no point in throwing the dice when a known alternative is barely any dearer. The risk/reward ration is wrong in other words. Over time perhaps they'll become well known and if they're that keen they will do the right thing and get their marque into road tests that prove their worth. At the end of the day a budget brand beating the big boys is interesting news and exactly what mass market journos would like to publish.
