Is there any actual 718 information on this thread that can be picked out, that's what I came here for and there's a right load of cobblers to sift through?
It's the latest update of Porsche's stunning 981s and certainly right up amongst the best sportscars on sale on this planet today, at any price. As such I'm looking forward to seeing how people get on with 718 once they have a chance to drive the real thing.

For what it's worth, I have a sneaky suspicion there will eventually be a 6-cylinder turbo version marketed as "the Porsche convertible" and probably approaching the price of a 911. 911 convertible looks a bit of an afterthought these days with the Targa on sale as well.

interesting, any basis to that or just your thought?
i've always had a prejudice against convertible 911s as just 'not being right', especially once the Boxster came along.
It would make sense to leave the vert to the boxster.

There were some recent reports that Boxster prices would move ahead of Cayman but the rest is just my own thoughts. I don't think Porsche is any longer trying to "protect" 911 as significantly distanced in price/performance from the mid-engined cars.
