I can't stand German SUVs, seem to always be one of those driving up my trumpet.
Maybe it's just my perception but Landys and Jeeps have never bothered me...

you know you are trying to talk sense to somebody who hates pieces of metal because of where they were assembled in some frankly ridiculous justification and the other guy asking why? jesus.

It is a bit strange but it's always those I mentioned that are in an enormous hurry and need me out of the way!, I have arrived with my German thing and you are clearly inferior.
All the other cars just seem to get on with it in a relaxed manner. Like I said, my perception.

Mate, I live in Hethel, so you can imagine the absolute idiots I get on all the roads round me in their Lotus'.

So I feel your pain.

Surprised you can even see them... wink

Most of them don't even have their lights on even when it is dark. So I presume they don't have auto light on Lotus? It seems to confuse the owners tremendously.

Quite. Their sheer 'presence' is expected to be felt by the minions ahead and a parting of the traffic should simply 'happen'.
When you are a God in your own right (due to owning one of these Deutsche leviathons) it simply happens around you... smile Simples.

Don't step in here with all your logical talk, it won't go down well.

Can I add my view of the practicality of an SUV.

When judging people that buy them as not really understanding cars or as self centred, spoilt middle class idiots that really should spend their money on 'better cars' you should stop and think for a minute.

Not all people have the same life as you. They may struggle on a daily basis to make their lives work and make choices about the vehicles they use based on their lifestyle, often times they cannot manage or control. The constant sneering is depressing. You may need a car to go fast, cover long distances for work or family or to go off road as a farmeror because you are building a house or work in areas prone to flooding or snow.

Personally I use a SUV to manage my lifestyle. I have a father with Parkinson's that makes it hard to move and get in and out of a low car. I have a child with global delay who is large and difficult to manage, has to be lifted and manoeuvred into a car. Daily life is a struggle and anything that helps is a godsend. I also have another child that plays rugby and we often (most Sunday's) find ourselves in muddy fields.

I live in a house without stairs and have concrete in my garden - it helps us get in and out, round and about - everyday life easier to cope.

I have an SUV for the same reasons. It makes life easier.

Please stop judging and start thinking. You may not understand why people would ever buy these things. That is because you can't understand their lives. You don't live in their shoes. You don't need what they need. Why can't I have a car that is practical, fun to drive (within reason) and has a high quality feel. I think I deserve it even if you don't.

Stop judging and start thinking.
I'm sure you know that you're in a minority, don't you?

Still plenty of people who want the space of an estate or hatchback but with the ease of getting things and people in and out.

The reality is that the SUV is a very practical design for every day family transport usage.

What's really going on here is the typical British style of blaming other groups.

Whenever there is an SUV thread you always see the blokes who are angry at women crop up and rant about women in SUVs or the blokes who have an issue coping with other blokes who appear to have more spending power than them.
