BMW M3 estates. I'd be all over one of those yet they leave it to Mercedes and Audi. Although I'd also pondered what a drop top M6 V10 would be like.
And yet at the time, BMW's rational for denying us such was that it perverted the ethos of the M3 (i.e. #becauseracecar).

Oh how we laugh now.

I assume, if they did make one, it'd have understeer designed into the handling characteristics like the new Renault Twingo does (although I wouldn't expect Fiat to move the engine). That short wheelbase would be a liability for many drivers otherwise.

As much as I loved my 7th Gen Celica (2ZZ, 190hp model), I can't help but feel Toyota missed a trick with it.

A proper successor to the GT4 with a turbo and 4WD could have made it a proper Jap great. It certainly had the looks to my eye at least.

I guess it was never realistic due to the Gen7 having no rally swag (ugh, sorry). Even a hotter FWD Gen7 may have been a non-starter, as I don't recall Toyota having a suitable 2.0 FI lump knocking about at the time...

Those always looked like they should have been RWD.

The GT4 moved to the Caldina after the ST205 (called the ST225).

Which is a shame as they looked awful, dropping the coupe shape.

Ha ha, very topical!

Manual smart Roadster, or at least a kit to stick a clutch pedal and gear lever for DIY'ers.

Already mentioned, but any modern Maserati needs a bloody manual option. I'd be on my second or third Maserati by now had any of them in the last 10 years had a fking manual. Grinds my gears!

A new Z4 M with the S65 V8 from E92 M3. Would have been outrageous.

I said that earlier in the thread and I think it would be a nice little recipe for sure.

Subaru Impreza WR1

If only they'd made it with..... a nice interior.

Love the colour, the wheels & the performance figures (though I have never driven one), I just hate the interior. I want something nicer too look at.

A Mazda RX8 with a V6 engine. With the suicide doors it would have made a decent alternative to my Clubman.

Indeed and my E92 M3 was a manual even though I do think the V8 suits the DCT better.

I would have really liked that V8 in my Z4M for sure.

I'd settle for just better steering and a better driving position
