Nice little dig there, very subtle. Very PH.
I have been reading this thread with great interest.

Please, answer this one question.

Which Lamborghinis have you driven?

Have you really been following it with interest? Because if you had, you'd already know the answer to that question. The answer is.....

None!

Obviously, this means I am totally and utterly wrong to think that a 700bhp car could ever be exciting. I mean, it must be dead boring (or even 'painfully' boring, to quote Mark above) right? God, why would you even bother, just get a Honda Jazz or something.

I took issue with the fact that Mr SV was seeming to say that the newer cars from Lambo are not exciting at all and clearly if you really liked your cars, you'd get an older one. Add to this the fact he hadn't appeared to have driven one (maybe he has, who knows?) and so I posted an opinion contrary to his. I must admit, I didn't think it would be quite so controversial.

I accept that the opinion is against me and therefore I am wrong according to the internet. Maybe when I drive an Adventador and a Gallardo or Huracan I'll be proved wrong, maybe they will be 'painfully boring'. I doubt it, but you never know eh?

Yes, I wasn't sure if you had become a Lamborghini test driver since the start of the thread.

Drive a Diablo and an Aventador and then tell me modern Lamborghinis aren't sanitised crap.

Wow, you must own some incredible cars if you think Lamborghini's are sanitised crap.

Please share your garage with us all.

Lots of power plus wild looks don't necessarily mean excitement. Hell, I got plenty of laughs out of a 75bhp Peugeot 205. Today's Lamborghinis have just got too heavy, too techy, and too self-consciously try-hard 'wild' in their styling. E.G. their current obsession with hexagons. Now, the Aventador is outgunned by the Ferrari F12. A decade or so ago, one could not say the same of the Murcielago and 550/575. The Murcielago's simple, unfussy styling still looks better than its successor, and it sounds far better too.

Yes, I do thanks.

I'm not sure why I need to prove myself to you though.

You don't.

But you are obviously very knowledgable about high end high performance cars, and I was interested in your choice of vehicles at this level.

What about the Lamborghini Veneno and roadster, amazing cars and proper Lambos, very expensive thou and exclusive? Maybe that is the direction they want to go. The Sesto Elemento was another car, they were proper automotive masterpieces of Art, but due to the small numbers don't get much press or attention.

He drives a Mondeo. The closest he has got to driving a Lamborghini was probably via an experience day on an airfield. Even then, he most likely slagged the Lamborghini off to his friends, stating that his Mondeo has a more useable power band, and that rides across bumps better ...

Unless I can be proven wrong with a custard test? But honestly, it sounds as though this is CC under a different alias. Don't bite! wink

I've owned a Diablo 6.0, Murci SV, Aventador and now an Aventador SV. With the possible exception of the standard Aventador, in my opinion they are about as far from "sanitised crap" as it is possible to imagine. The Murci SV tried to kill me several times and the Aventador SV is utterly ludicrous, and unbelievable fun.

Who are you, a mere owner, to question the views of a man who has read things on the internet and in magazines?

Nobody said the Aventador was not exciting as a modern car on the road these days , the message trying to get through to you that you seem to have trouble grasping with is that the cars of today are less involving , more driver aids etc . Lamborghini cars of old ( not that you would know because you probably were not even born ) you had to work to keep the thing on the road , it's more intense , therefore more exillerating . Times have changed , Lamborghini had to change too , it held on as long as it could creating cars that give the driver that full on experience , but as more regulations get passed more standards more safety features have to be employed in the design of the cars . The upside Lamborghini keeps up the pace with the rest of the pack , the downside is it has lost the very element that made Lamborghinis special in the first place . That element gave the Countach and its predecessor the Diablo it's road presence . I don't expect a young lad with a ricer to understand this and quite frankly no one cares if you don't . But if you are going to talk cars on here son it might be prudent to show a little respect , because no one here knows everything , there's quite a few though that know nothing .

You've had your Aventador SV delivered already? Must be one of the first. Post some pics. I love them!

That's because I lost all respect for this fool sometime ago . He talks a load of pish and argues with people just because he can , if he had any respect in the first place I would still have respect for him and his opinion . However now I just concede he's a boy who wanna be a man by trying to make himself look big by trying to make others look small . As for doing ok , I fine thanks , and I'm still doing ok with or without your opinion .
