I was just about to order a new regulator for my 996 C2 Convertible, when I had a thought. Are window regulators identical for Coupe and Convertible? All places I have looked don't give the option to select body type.

I have now fitted a new window regulator but the window won't open fully, their are no issues with it closing, or when I open and close the door.

The part number of the new item fitted matches the part number on the unit I removed. The window carriers bottom out on a mechanical stop on the left arm, so don't appear to be able to go any lower. The window is sitting in the rubber protector within the carrier, and the carrier clamp bolt is in the lowest position. There are 2 adjustor screws - one on each window carrier, but these appear to limit the window closing not opening.

Has anyone had this problem before, and can help? Is there anything in the photo showing an obvious F.U. I have made?

Cheers

Where the left hand carrier bottoms out on the stop you should be able to remove it - 1 screw. The stop needs to be in the lowest hole for the window to drop fully into the door. At least it did on mine.
I bought an after market part of eBay which was utterly crap, lasted 24 hrs. Now replaced with genuine and it's perfect. Lesson learnt.

Thanks for that. This is a Porsche part, did you have to make the adjustment with the OEM part or aftermarket?

Hi you need to move the stop to lower slot, or if you have 2 stops fitted then just remove the top one.
Once you have removed the stop, take the window fuse out, then refit, sit inside car and set window one touch operation.

Sounds like it was in Boxster mode.
