How dare you, I'm not old and neither is my car. We are mature, smooth and cheaper to insure wink
Not hard to pay nothing for insurance if you don't drive it :P

I had an X Pack Escort RS2000 and a 3dr Sierra RS Cosworth at the same time, the Escort had half the power of the Sierra but was more fun to drive most of the time. Wish I still had them.
Hi , I had a escort mk2 1600 sport with a 2litre Zetec , on 185 tyres its was so much fun to drive ! I guess not to be used every day , weekend only which opens another can of worms !

What have you changed to get the power up to 180bhp?

I had a Mk1 with a 230bhp, 240lbft V6 on 185s the only problem was trying to get the power down off the line, once rolling it was very tractable.

The problem isn't the power, it's all the other things that go with it and compromise the driving experience and fun to be had at legal speeds, such as big heavy sticky tyres, wheels, brakes and engine. Road driveability of an engine often suffers with that much power too. I've no doubt that I'd have more fun in a GT86 than a 1000bhp Supra and then leave the serious performance to something light weight and track focused instead.

There are plenty of examples of this that I can think of where I prefer driving the lower powered version of a car.

Did you have it from new?
Ford never made one - the previous owner spent a fortune building it.

So power is king , hot hatches will just keep getting more powerful , and it perhaps a little sad that's why we upgrade to the next best thing , or more powerful thing , so let's expect a 600 bhp hot hatch by the time my 13 year old son is old enough to drive . Just glad he cannot afford to insure it 🤓👍 makes my old fiesta 1.3 super sport look a little silly now , ah them were the days .

I kinda think they were.

Cars with modest power and grip but light weight, where the drivers input was what counted.
