Any more tales of E30s and sideways action :-) ?
It is a myth...spinning the inside wheel is about it.

Unless you are a complete dunderhead with zero driving aptitude or even less mechanical sympathy then sideways is not happening.
Yes it can. On a freezing cold damp night I was turning left from a duel carriage way onto a roundabout and onto another roundabout. I didn't think I was going particularly quick but I suppose the momentum and reduced traction just let the back end come round on me. Put some opposite lock on an drove out of it. Got a "nice save" from my mechanic I was giving a lift to.

They actually made the Touring models until early 1994, on a 'L' registration:

E36 Touring production started in 1995, and IIRC you can get the 325i Touring up to a 'K' registration.
Couldn't remember if they stopped producing in 93 and the 94s were late registrations

I had a 'L' 316i Touring smile.

Actually, you're right, it could be they stopped making them in 1993 and registered the later ones in 1994 on an 'L'.

Cool cars either way and the E30 M3 is one of my dream cars.

Quite frankly having seen your garage page I think you already have a fair share of dream cars! smile

Indeed. BlimeyCharlie are you in fact a complete dunderhead with no driving aptitude?
I took my 325 touring to Folembray with PH in 2003. Damned if I can find a pic, but I needed new tyres afterwards. I remember someone stuffed their Ariel Atom into the barrier. That was a shame. Ted was giving it the royal wave. That guy I had a major argument with about smoking was tearing around in his lovely 350c...
Then there was the time I nearly threw it down the bank at Mont Saint Aignan after a hard day's teaching. Only my incredible reflexes allowing the employment of major oppo got me home that afternoon. Third gear off a roundabout, floored it; broadside for many seconds. HOOooowl.
By the way, great article - my compliments to the writer.
