Because sometime you DO need the space, and don't want a fleet of cars just so that you are 100% space efficient all the time.

My car has four seats. It has only ever carried four people on a hand full of occasions. c25% of the time it has 3. Another 20 or so it has 2, but most of the time it has just me. Should I buy a one-seater car as well just appease a bunch of bed-wetters?
End of discussion from me - if you want to argue a point that's just fine but do grow up and avoid personal insults eh ?
Personal insults?
Grow up?

Bad morning?

Thanks for the insult. I don't know what kind of person thinks calling people bed-wetters is smart, but I can return the favour by actually basing my insult on some reality: you seem to be illiterate. Now isn't that productive?

You didn't understand what I wrote. At all. Please re-read and tell me how making a four-seater unnecessarily huge makes it carry four people any better than other cars that comfortably carry four people. And above all, how does making a car huge and adding unnecessary space all around the front passengers (above them, to the sides...even below them under the car) make it 'finally acceptable' since even in the smallest cars almost every single one of them provide ample space for front occupants. The only exceptions are I guess some rare tiny city-cars (though even they tend to design their cars according to the same front passenger measurements as the rest) and Lotuses with their snug sideways space (but fine space in other dimensions). Actually I've heard from several exceptionally tall people that small cars tend to offer ample space very often, and bigger cars can be lacking!

The point was that people seem to think that they're more comfortable in a huge SUV or otherwise huge vehicle, driving with an empty back seat and trunk space, while they're not using or benefitting in any way from the vast amount of unnecessary space around them in the front seat area either! I'm not comparing them to 2-seaters, I'm comparing them to much smaller (better sized) vehicles that also comfortably fit four people and have pretty good luggage space too.

Wow. Lot of hormones/sensitivity here this morning. I'm not offending anyway. Swap the phrase 'bed-wetters' with 'Friends of the Earth'/'Tree-Huggers' or anyone that tells people what car they *should* be driving due to their own agenda. No insults intended. I was making a comment and sharing an opinion.

On to the point, I don't see how the GTC could be a great deal smaller. It (or at least the FF) wasn't unusually spacious. It's not an S-Class.

People choose what cars they want, and buy cars to suits THEIR needs. I drive a 6GC. Everyone I transport *could* fit in a 3-series, I have one for today, but they fit in with less comfort as there is less rear legroom. It is also less practical as it's boot is smaller. But above that, I got a 6-series GC because I wanted to. I don't give a st what <insert a phrase that isn't going to twist pantyhose> tell me I *should* buy.

Ditto people that choose to buy an S-Class or 7-series, especially in LWB guise. Or for that matter buy an SUV when they *could* buy an estate, or just a normal car (on the 'approved' list). They buy it because they can and want to. Thank fk for free choice and a huge range of cars to suits everyones options/desires.....and thank fk that this isn't communist USSR with a defined car that you are allowed to buy that <insert a phrase that isn't going to twist pantyhose> say suits your needs.

On your final SUV point, aside from the 'who the fk do you think you are for criticising SUV owners for buying the car the WANT' argument, what about that person that DOES use all the space in an SUV for even 5% of the time. Why should he/she either compromise that 5%, or buy a second car so he isn't wasting space when he/she is driving alone?

Wow, so you get angry when you get confused?

You still have no fking clue what I was talking about. But that didn't stop you from going nuts with your internet tough guy BS claiming to own such and such thinking it would make your opinion matter or give you credibility. Clearly you drive a 15-year old Clio or Tata Nano at best. Jesus christ you are not only thick as hell, but you're a complete douchebag as well!

Metcalfes vid, the opinion of owners like bertie and the fact it looks gorgeous makes the FF the most desirable Ferrari for me. It's got space, it's outrageously fast, it'll no doubt sound incredible and it looks great, what's not to like?

Sure, it's a big car, but so are most these days. It has a long engine, they wanted to make it imposing I'd imagine and then there's all the safety regs that need big crumple zones to adhere to.

You assume I'm getting angry? Then call me thick, then call me a douchebag.

All for sharing an opinion.

And, as I said before but the hard of thinking can't grasp, its got a big engine, needs space for four people and boot space. Add it together and it isn't that big. It's almost identical dimensions to my car....only 10mm longer and 50mm wider. Factor in how much bigger it's V12 engine is (packing 300bhp more than mine), I'd almost argue it's surprisingly small?

As vans for such domestic chores go, they have some pedigree...

Yes it does. Not sure what PH members have been smoking recently but it hasn't done anything for their artistic eye. This is nothing more than a pumped up estate car. Emperor's New Clothes?
