Looking at VFM misses the point. I know a couple of guys in this target market.

They already have, or have had, every alternative combination mentioned above. Their prime desire is for exclusivity. It doesn't matter if it costs 10x a 2nd hand Rapide, or if the dashboard is the same as a 10yr old DB9. As long as no-one else they know has one, they're happy.

The interior is pathetic for such a project. By all means go out and show what you can do, make a US$1m car .... but at least do it properly and put a bit of effort in.

That is just not good enough is it for this price bracket...I mean look at those vents and buttons

Just smells of pure laziness and lets maximise the profit on anyone foolish enough to buy it when the competition is so much better for less
Can't agree more. They should ask 3m each. Just as many will sell. The bentley and RR are just as fast.

The Emperors old clothes! Lovely looking thing but the lack of anything new puts the price to shame.

Sorry that is blooming ugly. (not that I'm the target audience). I'm sure that these cars are just made as a willy waving contest for the people that buy them, "look at me i can p*ss £700k up the wall on a crap car.

That may well be the case but I'm sure it will have sold out by now if it was a truly bespoke creation and all the more special because of it. Exclusivity surely cannot be the be all and end all if what you end up with is a little bit crap, not at this price point anyway!

My main gripe is the fact that it hasn't moved Aston forward as a brand, a real opportunity missed to provide something that would stand the test of time. The original Lagonda may be a bit of a crap car too but at least it was trying to be revolutionary and offer something never seen before.

You'd think the daft super mega rich would be able to see that the interior sucks...perhaps if you're that super daft and mega minted you could afford to have one as a bauble on your drive.
I think despite the skill and attention to detail on the outside, overall, it's embarrassing.
Daft and minted, enter William.

Both reportedly $900,000, the first one started life as a Beetle.

Remarkable examples.

Put it this way. Can you imagine Rolls Royce or Bentley providing something as half baked as this for 700K? I don't think so! A 700K Roller would be something truly special you would have thought.

Nope, that was my point earlier. A 25K red label or £30K CGT makes it look like a bit silly.

I expect William is one of the few people on the planet cool enough to make either of these cars look remotely cool themselves. Even then it's gotta be a struggle!

All this grumbling about the interior is mere piffle. Less than a hundred years hence one's driver piloted without a roof for goodness sakes. One buys one because one can. Bristol 412 anyone?

Both RR and Bentley have a reputation for quality though, Aston Martin...not quite so much.

Not entirely sure what that proves when a modern 7K super mini offers more than anyone could possibly have dreamt of 100 years ago. This is 100 times more expensive though so expectations are bound to be a little higher don't you think?

Yeah maybe a little unfair as their remits have always been different but I'm sure that if the roles were reversed Rolls Royce would produce a far better resolved and more special limited addition sports car for 700K than this attempt at a limited addition luxury car for 700K by Aston.

Surely they'd rather just spend their $1m and get something custom built if all they care about is exclusivity... much more effective than buying 1 of 200.

So on a VFM basis for these guys you know, I don't think it is that good, they could get a lot more exclusivity for a lot less money!!

Trouble with having something custom built is the cost and effort to then advertise to everyone what it is and how much it cost.

With this car the most important job is done for you. Everyone knows it is exclusive and knows you are considerably richer than yow.

WEALTH fkING WHISPERS. HELLO???? CAN YOU ALL HEAR ME AT THE BACK???? I SAID WEALTH fkING WHISPERS.
