The Ones that Got Away
Discussion
Scimitar Coupe for £300 on ebay. He was even going to deliver it to my door.
I had a crisis of confidence and convinced myself it would be a complete dog and I'd never get parts. Which was partly true.
Later I saw a Gilbern Invader advertised locally for a grand and missed it by a hair. Somehow the similar rarity versus the Coupe didn't seem to matter that time.
Still wish I'd gone for that Coupe.

Jesus I'm depressingly good at this game......
Yer, I've had my moments too. It seems I fall in love with the idea of a particular car, do all the home work, keep my eye on a few, then work / reality gets in the way - I turn my back and they instantly turn into a 'modern classic' and all the good examples are gone!Renault 5 Turbos - ummmed and arrrr'ed, couldnt quite justify the insurance: when did you last see one?
Escort MK2 mexico - Family member offered me first refusal. I thought it was too expensive and not special enough. That would still be the case but it would be worth £10K+ now instead of £2K
Escort Mk1 mexico - Stunner, sold by the time I talked myself back into it.
Mercedes 190 Cosworths - Any black, unmessed with ones about now?
948 Club sports - See above, but in any colour!
Ferrari 348 - "the most unloved Ferrari"... now a third more than they were when I was still trying to get over the 'unloved' bit, and to make it worse a guy round the corner bought one and I fall over myself when it drives past!!
