OK, love might be a bit strong (I'll go with like) but I'm generally a fan of bold styling (even the Fiat Multipla) as new designs seem to be getting even more bland and generic but there are some I genuinely despise too.

I was sat in the car in a car park waiting for my wife the other day and over the way was parked a new Beetle. Surprisingly without all the retro colours/crap, I actually thought that it was quite a nice-looking car that has unfortunately had its image tarnished by the previous one.

Surprising when I despised the "simple" look of the "new" old Beetle.

I also can't stand the Porsche Panamera, latest MINI (the massive rear lights and jutting out front spoiler are horrid, which is a shame, as it's probably the best mechanical package yet), 1-Series, E65 7-Series and of course the Ssang Yong Odius either.

However, I do actually like the styling of all the other Bangle-era BMWs despite them looking top-heavy on the small wheel options and also the Fiat Coupe, Renault Megane II, R50/R53 MINI, mk1 Ka and Focus, FN Civic, Mazda RX8, new Fiat 500, new Jaguar XJ and even the Nissan Juke are all fine in my book!

Ignoring their merits as cars and just focussing on the styling, which "marmite" styled cars do you like/love and which do you absolutely hate?

BMW E60 - used to hate it, now I love it. Even an early one on a 53 plate somehow can still look fresh. The face lifted sport models are arguably the best looking, but even the SEs don't look too bad.

If by squint you mean 'poke yourself in both eyes', I can kind of see what you're getting at

I seem to like marmite cars, have just purchased an SRT-6. The Crossfire styling seems to produce very different opinions.
The pictures also shows how cars can change from their prototype, and considering it was Chrysler's replacement for the Prowler it is very different.

I quite like the Fiat Multipla - I wouldn't have it as a poster on my wall, but as a piece of utilitarian design with no concession to style it's great work.

Things like the Juke and BINI are bad because they're trying to look good, but failing so massively.

Like you OP I quite like the current Beetle, particularly when it is sporting those large chrome alloys that look like hub caps.

I love the Nissan Cube and all those other odd looking, small square Japan only cars and I have a massive soft spot for the original Fiat Multipla; very nearly bought one but the Zafira won due to having an extra seat.

Megane II, the one with the bum; a great piece of design, very bold and different and it worked too.

The Juke is fantastic too, so out there and odd, it just works.

There are others but they escape me at the moment.

I meant it in positive, though ironic, way, which one did you think I was insulting?

I always preferred the 309 to the 205.

Dude, I meant nothing by it, I was trying to play the game!

Sometimes forums and SMS just aren't worth it, too easily taken out of context

Citroen C6, everything seems out of proportion with a long front overhang and short rear overhang, the alloys did't do much for it but I really love the car. The simple but striking front end, concave rear window and pillarless doors just come together, really interesting car.

C4 Cactus, the air bumps and body need to be the right combination but it's a really quirky looking thing, so different to a vast majority out there.

RCZ, some say Aldi TT but to me the lines just flow better than a TT, plus the bubble roof thing is pretty unique and I like it. Considered buying one even.

On the other hand the Nissan Juke is awful, round headlights, triangular running lights, the design just doesn't "flow" and it looks a right mess.

New MINI, oversized lights look out of place and otherwise it's no more exclusive than a Golf..

Golf Mk7, bland and boring.

Love the Alfa Romeo SZ and RZ, not universally popular.

Loved the first version of the modern Mutlipla, before they made it bland.

Don't mind the Juke, or the Cube.

Not sure I hate many / any unusually styled cars - at least they're trying something different.

I've always liked the Ford Cougar (yes the Mondeo in a dress) which I know are not everyone's cup of tea.

Mind I still covet thy FiLs, so have become attached too.

Yep, agree with most of those but not sure about the Cactus. How is a Golf a "marmite" car? OK, it's not exciting but hardly offensive.
