I had similar at the garage - got charged £25k instead of £250....unsurprisingly it didn't go through, and then the bank instantly blocked my card so I couldn't pay the actual amount either

What, you think my credit limit is above this?! Amount isn't checked until the bank is pinged - it didn't get to that stage. It's a bit of fun FFS - get a life!
