Someone mentioned earlier it looks like the facelifted vauxhall frontera. I think it is. The frontera was also sold here as an isuzu rodeo, honda .... (cant remember the name), and as a chevrolet. This blazer is nothing like the original k5 blazer.

I really don't get the hate for this week's SOTW. It's different and to be honest, probably not what I would buy with my bag of sand but would a 1000 pound Land Rover be a better buy? I don't think so.

These aren't at all related to the Vauxhall Frontera. They are based on the small Chevrolet S10 pickup and the 4.3 V6 is tough and reliable if not particularly fast or economical. The old Blazer was based on the full-size pickup (Silverado/K1500 and became the Tahoe). These Blazers were very popular in the North American snowbelt, as they are tough, reliable and cheap to fix and quite a comfortable place to sit if not the last word in ride and handling but then neither is a cheap Land Rover and this will be a lot more reliable!

I don't know why people get so offended when SOTW isn't another large German saloon. I for one like it when they come up with something a bit different to the usual suspects.

I think that the article is well up to Shed's customarily droll and witty standards, and the whole point of SOTW, surely, is to identify some truly terrible but fun vehicles on which to spaff a grand. OK, some actual bargains, but also some rotters, and hoorah for non German barge shed threads.

Either way, coming to a weird council house near you (probably with several 90's American cars on the driveway already).
That dealer's just round the corner from me so I'll look forward to seeing that Blazer parked up somewhere nearby with its hazards on! wavey

I've seen worse-looking SUV's.

They sold these in Indonesia as the Opel Blazer and there are plenty of them still being abused over there so can't be too bad!

But it's American, so it must be st. rolleyes

You clowns have no idea; this was one of the best SOTW articles I've read. 10/10!

Funny old world...99% sure that car was owned by the dad of a friend at school back when it was new. Odd choice back then, amazed it's still going. It was replaced by a Lexus with those awful rear mirror tinted windows!

What a serious utter amount of st written by PH. I mean seriousl like WTF!!! After the second paragraph all the stereotypical st about American becomes as dry as fk. Surprised you didn't even drop the Donald Trump line, or maybe you did as I couldn't even be bothered to read anymore.

VERY POOR PATHETIC WAY TO DO SHED OF THE WEEK. Real fking turn off and amateur pathetic childish journalism.
Your constant idiotic trolling on these forums gets very boring. Everything you post is either an insult to another poster or a negative and scathing attack on someone's opinion about their car. Grow up. Get back to your school homework before your mother sees that you're on the computer.

It was indeed a silly comment, as the article was entertaining and well written.
