I really like this shape of 7 series, a vast improvement over the last.

Tesla is faster for how long? Suspect this will be a nicer place to spend time for what it's designed for.

I like the technical concept; even though it's pretty much what was expectable. However, chrome tat, stepped interior like a Siberian we house lounge, 'squeezed bean can' exhaust decoration, 'M'- and V12-badges make it vulgar.

Is it no longer possible to sell something technologically refined without covering it in tat to make it appeal to third world pimps?

Yes. Badge deletion is a free option. You can easily change chrome trim for satin black or shiny black on the options list as well.

I thought so, even though 760 options are yet not published in de or en. I'm sure you may also option more decorative features for it.

bmw.co.uk can already reveal
For those that prefer a more discrete approach to V12 motoring, there’s the V12 Excellence Design package. This sheds the M aerodynamic modifications and adds 20-inch BMW Individual light-alloy wheels in high gloss, brake calipers in black and a series of chrome details. In place of the model designation there's a 'V12' badge on the rear, while inside there are fine-wood inlays for the steering wheel and V12 lettering in the instrument cluster.

I'm worried to think what they offer for those who prefer a more indiscreet approach

600hp from such a large engine and 2 turbos doesn't seem that impressive. Maybe they are keeping it under powered for the M7.

I assume that these are heading to oil rich places like Saudi Arabia. Obviously too much power is just about enough and I can see the "need" for a ridiculously powerful engine in a car like an M5, but 600hp in a barge? Presumably the power is more about saying my car is considerably more powerful that yours al-Hamdu lillah!

Id say the power is there for a couple of reasons. It is so easily produced from such huge lump and secondly, large amounts of power/Torque can be produced very low in the rpm range which only keeps the car silent and seriously brisk. It is after all, an engine shared with a Rolls. Enough said. Further, given it is the flagship and well optioned, about £140K, it must be the most powerful and have the biggest engine

No, the power is there to mske for a more relaxed driving experience. I assume you've never experienced both low-powered and high powered big cars of the same model? I've been in a few S class 3 litre diesels and an S63, a 730d and my 745i (not immensely powerful but enough to make the difference stand out)....it makes a massive difference to the driving experience when you have more power on tap.

The badge looks a bit Ford Scorpio Granada 2.9i Cosworth 4x4 Ghia X Ultima (yes this an exaggeration) , nonetheless should be a hot ship. I inherently prefer BMWs to Mercedes, and a pal has a pristine E38 750il I've driven for 1000s of miles and rate very highly, these days AMG appear to do this better. If BMW went all out and created the world's fastest saloon with an 800+ bhp multi turbo V12 with a clever suspension set up the equal of the Panamera, and called it the M7 , then we'd really have something to talk about. I wish they would do such a car. The Aston Taraf is super-limited in production numbers and has sold. The M3 GTS (E92) cost the earth and sold, and held its value. Perhaps a run of 250 M7 saloons at say 350 - 500k, with a full on Motorsport ethos a la E28/ E34/ E39 M5, badged M7 rather than the apologetic halfway house of M760 (which looks like BMW has tacitly approved all those who have added an M prefix to their car - never knew there was an M520d) might be a success. From my perspective, it would be a lot closer to The Ultimate Driving Machine than anything else in the range. (Preempting the flames I know that slogan hasn't been used for years and I have driven an i8 and liked it, but it was super dull).
