For the past 9 years I have been doing 20k miles pa. In 21 years of driving I have not had (until 2 months ago) a car that did over 30 mpg.

I too was used to £65-£70 a week in fuel but now it's a third of that.

It's now going to be very difficult to use a 'thirsty'car regularly and the reason I took so long to convert to the black pump in the first place!

14000 miles a year at 46mpg in the 120d
10000 miles a year at 37mpg in the CRV

24000 miles a year funded my me means MPG must be reasonable.

Diesel. 25,500 miles/year at a sneeze over 52mpg. Only had the car 4 and a bit months, so all projected estimates, but £2350/year in fuel at £1.06/litre.

12500 miles in the last twelve months at an average 66.88 mpg, calculated from fill ups and miles covered. Of course this is Diesel. The car is a Toyota Yaris.

I'm just parting with a petrol (Audi, 2.4 V6) that I've had for 12 years and 130,000 miles, mostly used on longer runs up around 34mpg, although down towards 27mpg around town.

But life's too short and I've opted for a biggish gas-guzzler now. It's just a 5l V8, but I'm wondering if I shouldn't have been a bit more ambitious for something like a 6l V12..... scratchchin

Annually around 8k miles at 18mpg in the Monaro.

I used to have a much longer commute, around 22k miles a year, and ran a second 'economical' car for that (MX5 or suchlike) which paid for itself in fuel rather than having to run a TVR for 70 miles a day.
