With leeds being close to bradford is that just as bad? Or is it just bradford generally.
There are a number of dodgy dealers in the Bradford area, one particularly notorious one in keighley.

As I live in West yorkshire I do tend to buy around here but as long as you are sensible and avoid that particular dealer or any of its other incarnations you should be ok
Theres a couple of cars id like to see, in leeds both at garages that arent by appointment and ive rang both to discuss the cars and they were both honest with regards to the cars condition etc and were happy to provide me with the v5 registration number and so on. Only thing is neither have any reviews online.

My guess is that "Appointment only" means that the cars are stacked nose to tail in a warehouse with a Rizla paper sized gap between them. They want you to ring up beforehand so that they can get the car you're interested in to the front of the queue or possibly to their home address because they don't have any premises as such.

Can you not find any decent examples around birmingham/west midlands?

These guys always seem to find low mileage examples:

I'm not far from them and I wouldn't bother.

My money is on them being the same lot who ran/run Keighley Trade Centre - google them.

The address is a house.

Ideally you'd want to go see cars and where they are checked out and prepared.

Sounds like these cars are driven around by the "dealer" thus you can't just rock up and see it cause they have no idea where the hell it is.

I have no idea as I live in Brum but I would prefer to check out whats local to me before travelling up to bradford/leeds.

Well, that's just when the "airedalecars.co.uk" domain name was registered. The "business" could have been running before that with no website, or started after that date.

It's not a limited company, so just a couple of guys flogging cars - "By appointment" could even mean its part-time. The premises were advertised for rent in September last year.

Bearing in mind you can now check MOT history (and therefore mileage discrepancy) online, I'd beware of any dealer who covers the VRM in photos.

Based on my experience of 'appointment only specialist dealers', the appointment bit is to ensure that the car your interested in will actually be there.
I was interested in a car where the advert clearly showed it in the dealers showroom. In reality the car was on SOR (as a lot of them are) and at a private address 100 miles away.

Depends which part of Leeds.

Nowhere near as bad as Bradford (I'd not buy a car from anywhere in a BD post code), but there are some dodgy areas. I live about 10 minutes from Leeds so a couple of my cars have come from there.

I don't think it's the house, if you look further up the road on Google maps, its at the units next to swine lane.

I pass there most days and wasn't aware of this company. Then again i don't look at any dealer cars around here. Might as well go private, you basically have the same come back, none. Even half of the private ads are dealers in disguise.

Who knows, maybe this one will be different from all the others. laugh

All cars I've bought in the last 4 years have been bought within 20 miles of Leeds. No problems. Out of my last 10 motorbikes, 9 bought from around Leeds area have been fine. One bought in Lancashire has been a bit more trouble.
