Has anyone been on any previous year's rally? What's it like? And is it worth it?

For those who haven't heard of it, it's a car rally starting in Brooklands and finishing up at Biggin Hill, during the Festival of Flight. Price includes entrance to the Festival of Flight and a space in the car show they have there, plus discounted family tickets and a "commemorative award" ..

It looks like it could be cool, something different anyway.

Of course it's a great cause and the organisers should be applauded for organising such an event.

Realistically a 599 is not the car to do it in basically crawling across southern England at max 25-30mph is incredibly frustrating

When we arrived at Biggin we were block parked 4 deep and max 18" apart making it impossible for anybody to view the cars without rubbing/ touching them.

We'd paid extra for hospitalty which we'd wrongly assumed would include some food, there were a limited number of packs of crisps but that was it and the 2 or 3 food outlets had queues of more than an hour

We were given 5 minutes notice if we wanted to leave at 4.15 or we'd have to wait until 6.30 but of course we were blocked in and the attitude of the site staff was terrible basically it wasn't their problem in the end we had to get pretty feisty to ensure we were able to leave when we wanted

I believe it was the first Year and I'm sure elements of it will be much better second time around

A great reply, thanks.

It's definitely a great cause, there's no doubt about that.
Interesting points about the Biggin Hill side of things, I'm not sure I like the idea of being boxed in/lazy attitude of staff. But, like you say, this was their first event and hopefully the faults will have been ironed out this time round.

As for the hospitality package - I'll stick to bringing sandwiches!

Every event I have been to at Biggin Hill has had p*$$ poor catering. I agree to take your own but a great event. I may be watching from home as we are only 500m from the runway but may also venture out and tag along in the beemer.
