If the cyclist felt he was being endangered he could have called out without calling the Mercedes driver a fker and all the rest of it. Obviously the driver rose to that a little which I can understand in the heat of the moment even if one shouldn't.
Much as I'd like to mindlessly defend the cyclist (I'm a very keen cyclist myself), one thing that struck me as soon as he opened his mouth on that clip was "I've heard that voice before". And I'm pretty sure it was in a similarly shouty, sweary Youtube clip too. He has form.

Being a driver too, I'd also like to have been able to mindlessly defend the driver in the clip. But he's more of a tt than the cyclist. So I won't.

How dare you make such general accusations about Merc drivers. spin
It seems to be true though, but thankfully it doesn't seem to extend to the AMG end of the range!
As we're all car enthusiasts on this site, we all drive cars that many people would consider to be aggressive and antisocial because they're too loud, fast or flashy looking. It's odd that people on here would make such stereotypes themselves.
A lot of PH'ers don't drive trashy-flashy cars, some drive clssics or people carriers - so I don't think you can claim that the type of car a person drives influences their ability to identify an idiot.

In my time I have been into the Jap (Subaru and Honda) scene which was full of great people and have spent a few years owning a Jaguar and enjoying Jaguar events with their gentlemanly charm, but I'd always hankered after an AMG.... finally got one and joined MBClub online and went to a few meets. Now the AMG meets were a hoot, good bunch of general petrolheads who enjoy all marques and cars in general, but the general Merc meets and the forums.... OMG!!!!!

Pedantic dullards who actually think they own something special.... Porsches, Astons, Ferraris, Lambos are special.... Mercs (including AMGs) are mass produced cars like any other and have their good points and their bad points. They're not bad cars, but they're not that great either. Then I start looking at the way they behave on the road and think "I have zero in common with a lot of these people'.... I don't like stereotyping but a large proportion of them seem to think they're better than anyone else because they bought a Merc. This is borne out on the forums with their self righteous and sanctimonious attitudes!

My AMG is a nice car, it's unreliable and not that well built, but I still like it, but a Jag beckons - better car, better owners!

I've not found that.
The Merc forum I use is full of nice friendly folk and the christmas do was a hoot!

To be honest I find there are more pedants and suchlike on PH.

You're one of them! wink Any group of people who can have a twenty pager because someone didn't join a dual carriageway to their liking or because someone decided to put a non-AMG set of wheels on their AMG or because you can no longer get the horrible 70s chrome grille and bonnet star on a C63 need systematic avoidance in the real world!

People will find stereotypes anywhere. I try not to believe in them myself.

I agree, but Merc drivers seem to be an exception.
