I've only seen one R36 estate for sale anywhere near 10k in the last year, and that was a silver one in Ireland
Lad on R36OC bought that. Silver one at Bedford sports, blue one down in Cornwall last month and this. I always keep my eye on what's for sale. I'd have one at the right price/mileage. Just not black or saloon smile

My wife has run a 2000 Volvo T70 2.4T for 15 years, and from which she refuses to be parted, even though I've tried to persuade her into an XFR Sportwagon. 220K on the clock, now worth £250 if we're lucky, but with 220 odd bhp will still cruise happily at 130 all day if you want it to, every conceivable electronic extra at the time, including a TV and DVD player which pops up out of the top of the dash! And more importantly, it can take all the crap and rubbish she could ever wish to throw in it!

Saw one of these recently. Looked stunning, but I'd forgotten how mahoosive they are. Certainly not built for hustling down country lanes quickly driving

Estoril blue, about half of three and four Series F30-somethings seem to have it. That's not denigrating it, it is a lovely colour and very popular since BMW elected to offer it as a no-cost option standard colour; my wife fell in love with it and we subsequently have a 435d x-drive m-sport cabriolet on the driveway.

Loving the fact a 340i Touring is getting some love though; petrol Tourings are rare enough, I should know.

I wanted one before I bought the Mondeo instead. Well a 5-series rather than a 3 but same thing. I gave up. All diesel apart from an occasional small engine petrol and of the very few petrols most were still auto.

I don't regret the Mondeo 2.5T one bit, it's an awesome car but it's such good VFM I'm now stuck where anything more than an almost irrelevant tiny bit quicker is *lots* more money (in purchase as well as running costs).

I'm resigned now to running the Mondeo until it goes pop because I just cannot decide on a replacement. Which doesn't bother me one bit. smile

Same sort of issues for me as above, AMG, RS etc all nice, but lots of cash and I can't tow with them! Our Brabus D6 does it all and looks slightly different from your boggo E class. Its based on a 320 cdi sport so already has the big brakes, lowered suspension, decent seats etc, but with lots of Brabus extras fitted by the supplying Merc dealer when new, spoilers, sills, under floor exterior lights (!), Brabus Engine management upgrade and exhaust with twin K&N filters giving an alleged 278bhp and 435 torques. Not 'fast', but plenty of whoosh laugh

It was also fitted by the factory with the fold away towbar which Mercedes now want in the region of 2 GRAND (!!) for.

I wouldn't entertain anything but an estate these days.

Started with an ex-traffic 805 T5 about 400 years ago and it's been T5 powered estates ever since with the odd dip in to a Vectra GSi estate but that was utterly terrible and scarred me for life.

Now sat facing a serious dilemma... currently have a 1998 V70 T5 and a 1996 850 T5 (long story) and as brilliant as they are, the imminent arrival of a small person means I feel I need to get something a bit newer, sad fact or not but things like airbags, isofix and working air conditioning matter but on the other hand I still want something fast enough to keep me entertained and yet not cost a small fortune to run.

Looked at a 1998 V70R the other day, but as great as they are it doesn't really move me forward from the current line up but can I decide on what to buy... can I hell! Debated everything from a budget blowing 06 plate V70R AWD to an equally budget ruining S4 Avant before getting nervous and dropping down to something a little less err... wallet worrying.

Now find myself looking at anything from V70 D5's to XC70's to A4 TFSi Avants to Saab 9.3 Sportwagons... my only stipulation, it must be an estate and quick enough to hold it's own with a side garnish of bling to keep the inner chav in me happy.

As for cool estates, Alfa Romeo 159 is pretty epic...

Really enjoyed my time with mine, only got rid because the Mrs was learning to drive and would need something smaller. Turned out I didn't need to sell it in the first place as I started getting precious with the replacement car (accord type r) and ended up buying her a polo.

Hope to get another estate at some point.

I had an E320 with a Brabus D6/bodykit etc. - a decent turn of speed with plenty of room.

You're right about the towbar - not homoologted for AMG - so we use another car, which is a pain.

They did the Q4 version of that with the 3.2 V6. I was mightily tempted but they're meant to be quite small for an estate and the Alfa reliability put me off. Glorious looking though.

Just bought my first estate - the idea was to get something with a bit of poke that has plenty of space in it to ferry the family around. Came up with an e46 330 Sport Touring in 6 speed manual guise...

Not cool in the slightest but can't deny its proved mighty useful whilst decorating the new house. Those are 3 metre lengths of coving.
Unfortunately I can't disclose what car it is.
I die a little inside every time I get in it.
Pah! Managed two 2.6m wooden curtain poles in a 928 last week. 3m in a wagon ain't worth st, y'all biggrin

Nope.

Nothing cool about a 6.2 litre, 408 hp, 570Nm, V8 that'll easily carry 5 people and a dog.
I do have to get one of these next. Would have got one a couple of years ago if they came with a manual box, which is why I'll keep an eye out for the Gen-F HSVs, and one reason why the current PB family wagon is...

...a bit more Liberty/Legacy love for the thread. 2012/3 Lib GT, 6-sp manual, 2.5T, 260bhp, quite fun...

It's a Subaru Liberty, the Australian market version of the Subaru Legacy.

Indeed, called a Legacy just about everywhere else in the world. Don't think the UK got the Gen5 GT, which was basically Subaru's last foray into the sporty family-sized wagon market - Levorg is smaller - certainly its last with a manual gearbox.

And this view is its best side - definitely not a car you buy because of its looks...

There's usually a few for sale at www.caresales.com.au if you want to see more.
