So if I want 2, I pledge 18 quid and it adds in the other 2 quid to make 20?

FiL was in quality control at Jaguar so will love this as a Christmas gift

It's paperback only. I'm happy to stuff two bits of cardboard inside the sleeve if you like smile
There's something pleasingly ironic about this 'fix' laugh

Thanks. I will arrange for all the words in your copy to be printed upside down so you can read them wobble
You bloody ripper, that'll be better than the time I rooted me old Sheila in the back of my Sandman ya big galah.

Or something like that.

What they should have done on paper, and what they did in reality, were often quite different, in my experience. hehe Actually, it's about the characters, the people, the union hard-heads, shop-floor bodgers and other people who lurk in car factories doing often quite unspeakable things.
That's kicked the databanks into action again; the sideshow bob lookalike who worked in roadtesting was very serious about his job and knew every off-junction cafe and greasy spoon within 150 miles of Longbridge, and the manager with the bad hair transplant that looked like a field of crops on his forehead; it was a sight to behold and being in a meeting with him was pretty odd as no-one could bring themselves to look at him for fear of staring at it. hehe

They are. Back when I worked for a Tier-1 a few years back, one of our TVM contacts was a fossil relic from the BL days who bored regaled everyone with his tales of working at Longbridge and Solihull, and was proud to have worked alongside Red Robbo. Never seen anyone take pride in skiving off before...

Needless to say both us and his JLR colleagues did our best to work around him.

I'd love to meet Red Robbo. I think he is still alive. I've tried to track him down a few times without success. I'll bet he could add a chapter or two to my book smile
Seems he is, but he's 90 next year.

I'd not heard of Red Robbo before. How did anyone get anything done at all?

Perhaps they didn't. BL doesn't exactly have a stellar rep smile
